Hello all. just reading different threads and wondering what does the starting salary look like for a grad nurse? i live the in Atlanta area so any ball park figure will do. thanks!
Nope, area hospitals just raised their rates, I should point out however that most new grads are expected to work at least some weekends. This salary was without night shift differential, but I am sure that it includes at least some weekends. I should point out that Long Island and downstate NY pay more than every other area in the country, according to Advance magazine. I think that San Diego pays their nurses around the same rate, too.

realistically.....you must be including week end and shift diffs....nights even....starting sal for new grads in boston range between $23-28 per hour.
I am counting my weekend only ppc. Before I started the weekend program my pay was $28.50/hr. This includes my ppc. Our facility does not do differentials. Starting pay for new RN's in the Boston city hospitals range from $26.50 - $29.00 an hour without diffs
In NYC, new grads could get 34 to 37 per hour starting if in a private hospital with an Associates Degree. With a BSN, there is about 1000 to 1500 dollar annual salary difference.
I'm from NY and will graduate in Dec 07'..Do you know of any hospitals with good benefits in the city or in brooklyn..thanks in advance!
