Hello all. just reading different threads and wondering what does the starting salary look like for a grad nurse? i live the in Atlanta area so any ball park figure will do. thanks!
i live 45 minutes southwest of atlanta, and here RN pay ranges from 17.50 an hour to salaried positions ranging in the 60-70,000's. but the higher end i just named is in home health. needless to say im seeking other employment, as home health has burnt me out totally. they can keep the money, money isnt everything,,,, i shoulda thought of that b4 i jumped on that job.

Hi
i'm weighing my options on doing the RN-->BSN program basically what the major difference ($) are other than the different titles involved such as operating nurse , peds and case management, I'm 39 and will be a nursing student hopefully in the next 6-8 months
Thanks in advance for any replies

You know, I wonder the same thing because I just graduated with a ADN and I have a friend who finished up with a BSN and we are both starting in a new grad program making the same amount. So........... I don't know I've always wondered is there a pay difference with the two, most people i've talked to say there really isn't. But at my college we completed a total of 4 years, 2 years of prereqs and two years of nursing classes, total of 9 nursing classes, Im also starting the RN-BSN program only because I don't want to do floor nursing my entire life.

new graduate nurses in DC are being offered $26.73 for days, %15 more at nights (30.73) and $5 on weekends (31.73 - 35.73). Whereas in Maryland I was offered around $23.75 for days and $3 more for nights. I guess it depends on the cost of living in your area. NY and Ca probably pay the most. I also applied in Hawaii and they offered about $28/hr.

Maybe you should think of traveling nurse jobs. I hope everything changes for you.
