Bitter dried up nurses that need to RETIRE
I've been a nurse 4 years now and thank goodness I know how to deal with so called bitter dried up nurses. No matter what you are going through or what you have been through as a nurse that is NOOOOOOOOO excuse to act unprofessional and nasty. I never have that problem because as soon as those types of nurses start with that crazy attitude I check them really quick and put them right back in their places, those types of nurses know who they can talk to sideways. But thank goodness I have a backbone. I feel sorry for the nurses that actually let them get away with being disrespectful.

Hello
Hello Teresa- I recently graduated from WCC in May of this year from the nursing program and I tell you, it will not be an easy road to the end but it's well worth it. The classes are tough for some however when you make it through to the end, you are almost certain to pass your nclex exam. The instructors are GREAT at preparing you for this test at the beginning of your classes and expect only the best from you. So far all of those who graduated with me who took the nclex passed so this proves that they teach you what you need to know to be safe and effective as well as pass the class this is even true with the previous classes. As you may already know the program is very, very demanding and you must be commited if you want to do well. The program was a total shock to me at first because critical thinking was not something I was use to, and as a nurse that is something you MUST do. The test were difficult for me too at the beginning because I'm use to seeing a question and knowing that there is one good answer to it with all of the others being incorrect, however with the nursing test there were sometimes 4 answers that could possible be correct but only one was the best choice. The instructors are very proud of the program and it ranks higher then some programs even nationally with the pass rate this including Universities too. As far as your A&P Delay is an excellent instructor and he makes class fun and intresting at least I thought so. Good luck to you with your classes-- T

Until 1980, Indians weren't allowed in Georgia.
Wow, I am Africian American and truly understand how upsetting this situation is. I myself find it very RUDE - for Columbus to get credit for so call discovering America when America was already occupied or discovered by it's natives. I can definitely go on and on about stolen dreams and all the other negative things that this place has under it's belt but I'll pass tonight, lol. Thanks for shareing this information T-

New grad...LTC nights
Hello, I am also a new grad working in a LTC place and have the same issue and witnessed lots of bad habits such as prepouring medications, etc. I am so nervous about the med pass because there is about 50 patients I have to pass meds to. Asking the techs who each individual is is a good idea at least it helps me out a lot, but make sure you double check with name bands. T

What's a good pharmacology review for the NCLEX?
Wow, I'm not alone, I also passed with 75 questions and I tell ya I had 10 medications and the only one I was familiar with was Clomid, hehehe. I agree with knowing your basic medications and classes. I think that you may get some of the unfamiliar ones if you do well at answering the basic ones.

what did you think of the nclex?
Hey there, My PC also shut off at 75 and I passed, and no I did not know that i passed, I left feeling like crap and as mentioned above, all i was for sure about is that I either did really well or did really bad. I was nervous because I did not take any Kaplan classes I studied from my Saunders book/cd and my flash cards, I kinda figured well, there is nothing new I can learn in the short amount of time that I have, I either know it or I don't. I tell ya, I thought my questions were soooooooooooo difficult. I had questions on Myasthenia Gravis, Cushings, BPH, DI, Epidural, Parkinson's disease and a question about responding to epidural allergic reactions. I also had tons of select all that apply and about 10 med questions with some meds I hadn't even heard of. So the thing is I dont know anyone who actually walked out feeling like they nailed it. This one lady that finished up when I did, said she heard that if you have lots of select all that apply that's a good sign that you passed, but how true that is who knows. Relax, and try not to stress out while waiting, you will do fine! T

New grad taking on PRN assignment at nursing home on 3rd shift
Hey, You know I am actually in the same position I recently graduated in May of this year and will start at a hospital on the 20th of august. I started working at a nursing home just to get the experience and yes you may have 30 to 60 patients at night. I myself will have about 50 patients to pass meds to and not only that these patients are on vents. Not to discourage you or anything because Im not sure what the quality of the place where you will be employed but remember this, No matter what everyone is doing around you or what you see, do what you were taught in school, the correct way. I tell ya, the things that I seen nurses do at this place makes me nervous just thinking about them, I am soooooooooooo grateful that I do know better

Care Plans Help Please! (with the R\T and AEB)
Boy careplans careplans, I know I had such a difficult time with those I do remember my instructor saying that you may not always have AEB or AMB because the Dx may be risk for or potential for so the patient may not be showing evidence/manifestations of the issue. For example the dx may be Risk for infection r/t invasive procedure, decreased immune response etc, etc, however if it was an Actual infection r/t invasive procedures, decreased immune response AEB diarrhea, increased WBC count of #, positive bacterial culture etc etc.

I took the NCLEX-RN today and need support!!
I recently took my Nclex-RN exam back on july 12th and finished with 75 questions, I had lots of priority questions, and many many check all that apply. My questions were on things like Parkinson's ,Cushings, BPH, DI, and gallbladder disease with one math. I passed, however i was very very nervous because i ended at 75 questions and was soooooo sure i failed. Another person and I left out at the same time and she told me that if you get lots of check all that apply, you're doing good. Not sure how much of the truth that is, but it did ease my mind a bit. Anyways......Good Luck to you. T

TIPS/Info for passing NCLEX
I used Saunders and Mosby's CD and books and Cards for when i was on the go. I took time out maybe 2-3 hours a day with 2 breaks consistently for about 2 months prior to and I guess it worked because I passed. I think it's all about what type of learner you are and what works best for you. Some people benefit from the face to face instructors while others like independent study. Whatever you choose good luck- T---

**help!!!! Please Help!!! I Just Took My Nclex!!**
Well guys, I took my NCLEX on the 12th of july and my computer shut off at 75 questions and i felt like many of you, horrible, i just knew i failed. I had one math question tons of questions that were select all that apply, questions on osteoporosis, Parkinsons, Cushings, BPH, and gall bladder disease, i also had many medication questions. I left not knowing what to expect just knowing that i failed. the thing is when you get 75 questions you either do really well or really bad and of course i thought everything negative that i failed, that 48 hourse was like H%&*, i couldn't eat sleep or think it was horrible, however i passed. The thing is you can pass with 75 as well as fail with 75. You can also fail with 265 and pass with 265 so you just never can tell. What I can say to you guys is to stay positive and find some way to keep busy for those 48 hours. The hardest part is over, which is actually getting through nursing school and if you can get through that you have accomplished something wonderful. T-

Salary to expect as a new grad nurse
You know, I wonder the same thing because I just graduated with a ADN and I have a friend who finished up with a BSN and we are both starting in a new grad program making the same amount. So........... I don't know I've always wondered is there a pay difference with the two, most people i've talked to say there really isn't. But at my college we completed a total of 4 years, 2 years of prereqs and two years of nursing classes, total of 9 nursing classes, Im also starting the RN-BSN program only because I don't want to do floor nursing my entire life.
