  1. Hi Nate, I was there last week and its a stressful feeling.I got my new RN license in the mail today and I think you soon will too.I have heard that if you get 75 and you are getting the tougher acuity questions then the odds are in your favor that you have passed the NCLEX.I am soooo happy to be done and now the real work begins!I hope we see your success post real soon-also check the BRN web site late at night -sometimes they dont update the passers till after midnight.Best of luck.Robert RN

  3. I found out late tonight that I passed the board and am officially an RN.It is such a weird and exciting feeling and yet it is surreal too.I am soooooo relieved and can chill finally for the first time in several years. Thanks to all you wonderful posters and supporters. Thanks also Susan for your plan and support.I love living in this modern age where we can be so far away yet so linked and so supportive of one another.I did Excselsior home study, passed the CPNE and now this milestone as well.I am proud of myself and I am grateful too. I never believed when I started that I could go this far and now I am there. Thank you God and fellow nurses/nurses to be.Happy Easter everyone-I already got my present tonight.I did Saunders review-3 rd edition and I found NCBSN to be helpful too-the 3 week program.Stay the course and you too will earn those 2 wonderful letters RN RN RN RN RN!!!!Such sweet music. ps I got 75 questions then it turned off-got lots of select all that apply and lots of priority types.
  4. Hi everyone, I took the NCLEX-RN today here in San Deigo.I am so relieved to have the experience behind me and now must play the anxious waiting game.Like Motorcycle Mama I am in the same boat.I too shut off at 75 and did guess on several-they are so tricky and on some the answer seems impossible to choose from.I did the Saunders program and NCBSN 3 week program as well.I read the entire 3 rd edition along with the 100 questions each night-thanks Susan! with the CD ROM.I am amazed that in this modern age we are stuck waiting like we are with no choice in the matter-so much for spending our 200 dollars huh!I am praying for success and for the success of all of you.I did get alot of priority questions and many check all that apply!I hope to hear from others and again ask that dreaded question-is 75 a good sign????I wonder how many correct answers one must do to pass out of the 75.Since 15 are experimental and 60 were answered I wonder how many one would have to get right to pass-realizing of course an equal balance of easy and difficult questions.Any and all feedback would be appreciated and private email is always great.Bye.
  5. I got 68 percent and hope it is enough for the real thing.I too was disappointed they did not tell us if we would have passed but I do like the 3 week service.

Hi fellow NCLEX students,I signed up for the 3 weeks with ncsbn and it seems pretty good so far.I took the initial assessment exam and scored 68 percent-(ie 102 right out of 150).I hurried a bit and missed alot of basic answers which i knew-reading the question slowly is sooooo important.Does anyone know if this would have been a pass in a mock board situatuion?I did not see where they tell you what chance you would have had at passing the actual NCLEX with the score you attained.Any feedback would be helpful.I am also doing the Saunders review but the CD is aggravating-its time consuming and there are some bugs to it and it sometimes quits mid stream-has anyone else had issue with the CD-I have the 3 rd edition and the "now in full color book". This will be my first attempt and I will go pretty soon to face the music.Anyone here in San Diego want to study?Let me know here.Later and good luck.Robert
  7. Hello, I am an Excelsior student and live in San Diego.I was fortunately grandfathered in before the Ca BRN cut off date so I am hopeful I will pass the CPNE,A and P and Life Span Psych in the near future and finally earn my ADN.I need advice, help ,feedback regarding my upcoming exams.Am seeking info from others in the same boat and want to share experiences and hopes too.Is Psych an easy exam? and what is the best A and P program out there both on line and traditional? Also is Palomar any harder than Long Beach in terms of CPNE pass rates?I was hoping to go to Arizona but this was recently dropped from the list of CPNE sites.Any and all info is greatly appreciated. It is not easy going the non traditional route and sometimes the road is lonely -am hoping through this medium to hook up with some other upbeat, hopeful, serious friends.I am a male LVN and work PMs and live here in San Diego.PLease respond. Thanks Robert
  8. Hello Calif. nurses, I am excited and happy to soon be realizing my RN degree and at 44 I am at a point in my life when I really want it big time. The road has been a rocky one as I went the Excelsior route and like others in a non traditional program it has not been easy. For the record Calif RN Board has never approved of the Excelsior/Regents program however we have always had NLN accredidation.Last year the board ruled it would no longer allow Excelsior grads to take the NCLEX exam and presently Excelsior is suing the state board in hopes of overturning this peculiar ruling considering the shortage and all.I am done with all classes except for A and P and Psychology and of course the dreaded CPNE.Would welcome all help ,advice, tips, feedback on this road-am so happy to have found an outlet to share my studies as this non traditional route can be a lonely one-has anyone recently taken the Life Span exam and was it easy?ALso am looking for the best A and P class on line and around San Diego and finally where is the best place to take the CPNE???Am bummed that Arizona is no longer an option and am now torn between Palomar and Long Beach.Could use some real insider info here-am hearing that Palomar is a difficult pass?ALso have heard Wisconsin is a good place?I am unsure and could a little help. Also any study partners out there?I am in San DIego and could use some help with A and P and the CPNE.I hope I pass Psych next week and will know soon.Am done with all other classes and found the old Med Source study guides helpful for all the Concepts classes.OK thats my life story -please respond am looking forward to hearing from all of you. Thanks alot.Robert
