  1. i failed my first time too, just found out today i passed on my second time around! but i used this book by exam cram. it was amazing. i loved it. i suggest that with my whole heart!!
  2. i found out today i passed!! thanks for the help everyone!!!
  3. i did not pass either, and calling work was hard, but so many people there also failed, i went in to see all my co-workers and people i never knew failed had told me how htey failed once, twice and one nurse told me three times. it made me feel better knowing others failed to, others that i knew and recognized as amazing nurses. you will pass, and you will be a great nurse. hopefully it only takes one more time for both of us!! hang in there!
  4. im doing the saunders book, and im taking the end of chapter questions before i read the chapter and im gettin 90s-100s before im even reading the chapters. this is making me much more calm because i know its just nerves.
  5. that website wouldnt load for me, i tried a few times... is it the right link or am i just stupid. i just got that packet from the board saying i failed in the mail today, turns out everyone at my work told me i had to wait 90 days to retest when its only 45, but that brings me to exactly my frist day back at school! so ill have to put it off a little bit after that!
  6. i have the 3rd edition of saunders and tenth edition of kaplan.. thanks everyone for the help. i appreciate it, when i get down everyday i look on here and i realze that these people these nurses i dont even know are supportive of me, the people that arnt supportive of me that acutally know me arnt worth my time. i found it helpful to go to my work and acutally talk to the nurses ive been working with for a year now and they all were so nice and supportive, you would never guess who failed untill they tell you. once you have that RN behind ur name no one asks how many times you failed! thank again any more ideas on how to prep, or certain books or programs let me know! i still am yet to decide for sure what is best for me.
  7. i got $25.00 plus 1.50 shift differential for eveings so 26.50, but once i pass boards it goes up 50 cents so i guess 25.50 base rate.. philly suburbs
  8. yeah i did kaplan the whole schabang. and this ERI course which was a whole course too. and i read "nclex-rn made incredibly easy" i really thought i was prepared. guess not... well acutally im pretty sure it was my nerves. now im starting "saunders comprehensive review for the nclex rn" we'll see....
  9. thanks for the help guys :) im starting to think more postive, any suggest any review books/courses online that are good for me? i greatly appreciate the help
  10. wow thats 2005, my bad : (
  11. i work at phoenixville too. i scheduled my boards right before i ended orienation. and i did end up failing but now when i pass im already pretty much done orientation so im told i wont have to do it all over again, i only have like 5 days leaft of orietnatin when i finally pass.. but by now you already took it or changed it so i hope you did well if you took it!
  12. chester427 is mistaken, cause i work at phoenixville, and i was hired for telemetry intermediate floor, and i personally know last summer they hired a few GNs for the ICU because they oriented on my floor for a few days before going to the ICU. phoenixville has a NICU, but no pediatric floor. pottstown has a pediatric floor if that isnt far for you. i did my externship at phoenixville, and i loved it. i saw an open heart surgery, got a day in the ER, one in L/D... i learned so much and i had my nursing job without even interviewing again : ) paoli wants you to work full time, if thats ok with you then your fine but im going back for my bachelors adn couldnt do that.
  13. i took mine on a friday and they were up on sunday pretty much on the dot when my computer turned off friday.. so 48 hours, even tho it was a weekend.
  14. i worked as a nurse extern, which in my hospital, you are a CNA in their minds, i started at 13.30, but the regular CNAs started at 11 i think.. but i know a few poeple there that have a pretty nice life and they work full time CNA. i know the hospital down the street from me starts theirs at 16.
  15. telemetry/intermediate unit i was told to orient full time over the summer as a GN till i passed my boards and became an RN, but i was 7 days till the end of orientation when i took boards and failed : ( but my jobs still wating for me, just have to pass boards first.
