Let's have a role call. All online RN to BSN students and former students (or those about to start) let us know where you're going, where you are in the program, and how you like it.
I'm in Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences. I just started in January and am in my fourth course "Methods of Nursing Research". I've found the support and the grading to be quite generous. But a lot of hard work!
Looking forward to hearing from everyone!
Currently I have an ADN/RN and I am attending Kaplan University online RN to BSN program. It is fully accredited and my federal student loan covers it. I take 2 classes at a time/per term (a term is 10 weeks) and will finish about this time next year. I researched many programs and found this to be one of the better ones and one of the cheapest. AND the books are included in the cost of tuition. It is a great school. I will eventually get my master's. The only thing that I do not like is all of the papers I am required to do!!
Hello
I applied to Jacksonville State University and I need the raw fact if you like you could email me . I start this May and have been debating if I should take the first three classes or just 2. I also have two kids 7 and 15, and a full time job it. Any info you have would be greatly appreciated

I am currently enrolled at South University Online. I started my RN-BSN last February. South University is on the Quarter system. The school year is divided into four, and each quarter is divided into 2 5.5 week sections. A full time student takes one class for one section and two classes the second session. I started taking three classes per quarter, but I had to cut back due to work and other issues (I work full time in a CCU). I had the hardest time getting used to online classes, but now, I would never want to go back to a traditional classroom. The teachers and fellow students are helpful. The tuition is a little higher than I would like, but it is more affordable than most of the other online RN-BSN programs I looked at (290/credit hour, if memory serves me correctly). I am not sure if I would start the program again if I knew what I now know, but I have learned a lot of useful information. I plan on completing the program next spring. I am debating whether to start the MSN program next year. My ultimate goal would be in education.

South University accepted a lot of classes I took for my ADN program. I think you shouldn't have many problems. One word of advice, brace yourself. South University takes time and effort. It often feels overwhelming until you get used to the schedule. The first several classes I was unhappy with the way the recruiter described the course load and work of each class, but I adjusted and learned how to manage my time and schedule better. One of my classmates dropped out last year because it wasn't her style. There were a few times I considered dropping out the first several months, but I am glad I didn't. I don't have as much a problem with it now that I am only taking one class at a time. By the way, if you have to take any Art History, be prepared to spend a lot of time on this class. I wouldn't advise taking it with other classes. That's all I can think of at this time. Good luck.
Hey guys-I'll join! I'm starting my RN-BSN this fall and am taking Philosophy and math/stats (have a couple classes to get through) this summer online as my last pre-reqs. Fun stuff.
I'm attending UMKC's online BSN program and am taking (I think):
Quantitative Analysis in the Health Sciences and
Health Assessment (3)
Going part time while I work FT (I'm an L&D nurse).
Anyway, hope to have my BSN by the age of 38 (35 now) then on to my Masters!
I just graduated this month from University of Maryland online RN- BSN program. WOOHOOO!!!!!!!Im glad its over. It took me 1 1/2 years to complete it , and it was a really good program. I enjoyed the online experience. I only had one clinical component ( Community), and that was a breeze ( I believe it was due to my very pleasant instructor). I recommend the program any day.
anyone here has gone to the FIU rn-bsn online?
they require one year of clinical experience for two classes. Don't know which, but I figure by next year I will have that experience, this fall and next spring I am planning to take a couple of classes that I am missing from my general ed AA
I think I have posted this before, but does anyone knw if it is possible to transfer out of UoP once you have begun? $1243 a class plus $70 resource plus books per class is just a little to pricey for me. I will call around, but know from experience I get my best info here on these boards!
why don't you try the state university system?
Hi All,
I just started the online RN-BSN program thru U of Wyoming, very affordable, seems to be a great program, right now I am taking a Pharmacology Nursing class and waitlisted for 2 other classes, what I'm paying for the one class, which is 4 cr is about the same as I'd be paying per cr hr somewhere else. The tuition is 134. cr hr + books. I'm very excited to get more into this program.

I was perusing the IWU site and it appears that one must attend class in Indiana. Is that true? If so, can anyone recommend a program for someone with an ADN and a BS (non-nursing major). Haven't had stats or chemistry.
Thank you!
