RN to BSN online

Published

In preparation for getting a BSN, I am trying to gather information regarding online BSN programs. if you have links to what you feel is an affordable, online, no residency requirement program, please post 'em here.

One program that I came across was at Thomas Edison State College. does anyone have any information regarding their program? I was hoping to find someone that has first hand (or second hand ? ) experience with the TESC RN to BSN program as it seems to be an affordable option, which, of course, is always a bonus. from reading the catalog on their site it appears that you can use some of the EC exams to satisfy the upper-level nursing courses.

The TESC program looks pretty decent but I am looking for some feedback to any online rn to BSN program. if anyone has links to what they feel is an affordable online rn/bsn program please post the link here.

Online Nursing Degree Programs at Thomas Edison State University

Hi everyone,

I plan to start at Indiana Wesleyan University online in a few weeks (mid-August). Here are some of the things I liked about it:

Completely online

$295/cr. hr. includes books

20-month completion

No statistics or chemistry!!!

CCNE approved

Here's a link if you're interested:

Best of luck to all as you continue your nursing education,

Donna

Congratulations!

I'm taking my seventh class through IWU for my BSN and I love it. It's a lot of work, but definitely worth it. Good luck to you.

Thanks for the words of encouragement, Katrina! I'm looking forward to getting started, and I'm glad to hear that others in the program really like it. If you have any words of wisdom you'd like to share, feel free to email or PM me! :)

Fox, that is an awesome list. Thanks!

Hi , this is my first post so please excuse me if this has already been addressed. I did read previous posts to this thread concerning accreditation and know that I would need to contact my state's bon regarding the online programs. However, I am seriously considering joining the Air Force Nurse Corps and was wondering if anyone knows if there would be any problems with them accepting the online programs. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to Allnurses Stephanie

I don't have an answer for you but I wanted to welcome you aboard. I do have a suggestion though, maybe you could call a recruiter to get pointed in the right direction.

Also, I am an online nursing student and I think that there is a student in my program who is working in a hospital on a military base.

I hope this is helpful.

To those of you looking into the Univ. of Wy. BSN program, or any other program for that matter, I am confused - can you take all the pre-req courses on line too or is just the nursing courses that are offered online. Thanks

Thanks for the info, Mona. Guess I'll have to give the recruiter a call. Good luck in your pursuit of higher education!

With UOP, as long as you have had your RN for one year and have 2 years of healthcare work experience, you can take the rest online.

Jim

UOP,

Do you guys have a FNP program?
