In preparation for getting a BSN, I am trying to gather information regarding online BSN programs. if you have links to what you feel is an affordable, online, no residency requirement program, please post 'em here.
One program that I came across was at Thomas Edison State College. does anyone have any information regarding their program? I was hoping to find someone that has first hand (or second hand ? ) experience with the TESC RN to BSN program as it seems to be an affordable option, which, of course, is always a bonus. from reading the catalog on their site it appears that you can use some of the EC exams to satisfy the upper-level nursing courses.
The TESC program looks pretty decent but I am looking for some feedback to any online rn to BSN program. if anyone has links to what they feel is an affordable online rn/bsn program please post the link here.
Online Nursing Degree Programs at Thomas Edison State University
I am currently enrolled in UoP online and am tired of paying $1243 for a 3 credit course not including fees or books.
$410/credit, wow! That's up there.
Looked at Phx online and looked appealing. My friend just graduated and was looking for an ADN to BSN prog.
What looked appealing about it exactly, Jessica? Just curious, coz I'll pass based on the price alone.
Do any of you have any thoughts on Walden University? I just got an add from them for 50% tuition decrease and am wondering how they are for an MSN?
I cannot find info regarding whom their accreditation is through. I know it says that they are "an accredited program", but it does not say by whom. (Most of the schools who say "we are accredited" but don't specify by whom or make you dig it up in the small print tend to wind up being accredited by some generic accrediting body rather than an entity that accredits nursing programs). Neither of the two major accrediting bodies for nursing (the CCNE and the NLNAC) list Walden University in their lists of accredited programs. I would be leery of a program that was not accredited by one or the other.
Jim, i have a question for you. My hospital encourages us to use UoP yet only offers $1500 /year P/T or $3,000 F/T. Obviously this doesn;t cover a class every 5 weeks. Any breaks for those of us that work at these hospitals that work with you?Feel free to PM or email. Thanks.
The only option you really have is Stafford Loans, Grants (Bachelor students only), and out-of-pocket cash.
This the best tuition deal I have seen yet...Fort Hays State University

CCNE approved
No traveling required
Cheri :)
the material i received from this school last week showed a grand total with books and tuition to be $4834...still good though! UW is about 4340 for tuition alone...still having trouble deciding which to do, awaiting additional info from UW in the mail. Anyone went to Fort Hays already and can answer some questions??
well guys, got some ques answered about fort hays and uw is looking better and better. fort hays does have group projects, powerpoint for every course, 3 separate clinical projects (no bedside nursing), in addition to lectures to watch, readings to download and additional tests. the uw student i spoke with said they are basically papers and some online chats-none of the other stuff! so they are now in the lead for me!
well Bellcollector, i grad from ec adn program next month. for me i do not want to continue with them b/c of the price, they are not a title iv school so i can't get any federal financial aid or student loans, and i do not want to be anywhere near a clinical exam ever again...that is my scoop anyway!
