RN to BSN online

Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

In preparation for getting a BSN, I am trying to gather information regarding online BSN programs. if you have links to what you feel is an affordable, online, no residency requirement program, please post 'em here.

One program that I came across was at Thomas Edison State College. does anyone have any information regarding their program? I was hoping to find someone that has first hand (or second hand ? ) experience with the TESC RN to BSN program as it seems to be an affordable option, which, of course, is always a bonus. from reading the catalog on their site it appears that you can use some of the EC exams to satisfy the upper-level nursing courses.

The TESC program looks pretty decent but I am looking for some feedback to any online rn to BSN program. if anyone has links to what they feel is an affordable online rn/bsn program please post the link here.

I graduated from an ADN program in May 2005 and am considering doing the RN-BSN on-line program thru Chico State University. Is there anyone who has done their program? I've never tried on-line classes before and am not so sure about it. It seems pretty affordable (in comparison with some others I've looked into) and they say I can still work full time while doing it. I still need some pre reqs, but they say I can also do those online with Coastline Comm. College (chemistry, statistics, critical thinking). Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

I wouldn't stress. They have noncompetitive admission, so everyone gets in.

Good luck. As was stated RN to BSN programs are very non-competetive to get into and if you show the money, you're sure to get accepted. :lol2:

Please, do tell

This may have been answered somewhere in this thread, so excuse me for being redundant...

But do you find that hospitals will still pay for tuition for BSN or advanced study programs if they are online? Do they even ask? Or do you just sbmit tuition bills?

Just curious!

Thanks!

I have never been asked if a course I was taking was online or not. I personally know of two other employees where I work who are going for MSN's and both are involved with online courses and they are also receiving tuition reimbursement for those courses. Many, many RN-BSN programs are offered with an online format.

Good Luck

That's not entirely true.

Although I agree that some expensive private online programs like UofP and others may be somewhat less competitive, my managers husband was rejected from Univ. of TX RN to BSN program because of his "C" grades in ADN school.

Right now he's sitting in community college repeating courses trying to bring up his GPA to apply again in the fall.

I know others who didn't make the cut either.

If he were willing to pay outrageous tuition, he might have been accepted at a private school.
