In preparation for getting a BSN, I am trying to gather information regarding online BSN programs. if you have links to what you feel is an affordable, online, no residency requirement program, please post 'em here.
One program that I came across was at Thomas Edison State College. does anyone have any information regarding their program? I was hoping to find someone that has first hand (or second hand ? ) experience with the TESC RN to BSN program as it seems to be an affordable option, which, of course, is always a bonus. from reading the catalog on their site it appears that you can use some of the EC exams to satisfy the upper-level nursing courses.
The TESC program looks pretty decent but I am looking for some feedback to any online rn to BSN program. if anyone has links to what they feel is an affordable online rn/bsn program please post the link here.

I graduated from Wyoming a while back. It is a very good program and I would recommend it. If you have specific questions you can post them here or PM me. :)

Totally agree about UOP. I looked into them as well, but the powerpoint stuff and group work (not to mention the price) were just too much...UWYO was much more reasonable.

Hey!
My whole program has been nothing but group work and power point.
I thought everybody had to do that stuff!
Boy do I feel cheated.
Oh well, at least I'm not going to UofP and have mega sized loans to pay off when I graduate.
Hi All:
Just a quick note. My supervisor is currently enrolled online with UOP and in charge of a staff of seventy nurses. When I decided to return for my BSN I looked into several online programs. I did not even consider UOP as my supervisor is constantly complaining in staff meetings related to the poor quality of the instructors. She constantly expounds that the instructor makes the class and that if she had another chance she would have chosen a different online program. I choose Thomas Edison and I have been very happy with the program.
Just thought I would add a little input.

So far, and I'm a year into it, Florida Hospital's program has had no group projects. Thank goodness because I hate group projects. We do online live chat once a week though. I've done only one power point so far too. I've lost count how many papers I've written. :)

That's sad because I think they are known to hire their own graduates as instructors.
I think the best online programs are those at an already established nursing program like Florida Hospital College.

I'm only in my first semester of Univ. of Texas and I'm already working on power point #2. There are group assignments/projects almost every week.
I hate group work as well.
But luckily, I ended up in a very serious and motivated group so I'm not stuck carrying all of the weight like my previous experiences in group projects.
It all depends on who you get in your group.
Yahoooooo!!!!!!! I am officially a student! I am an associate degree RN for 6 years and decided to go back to school to open my door of options for management or possibly teaching! I am enrolled for the summer semester at Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences Rn to BSN online. I wanted to extend my thanks to everyone on this forum, because I took every post and researched every school that was written to come up with the school I did. The program is 2.5 years, but I only have 2 years to do since I've done chemistry, statistics and an elective already. I don't have a bachelors degree in anything, so I needed a school that had the general education classes online as well. Working nights and being mom to a 20 month old, this worked the best for me. I can't wait to start! So, again- thanks to you all and I'll keep you all updated on how my journey goes. I long ago bookmarked this page and plan to visit often for inspiration!
