RN to BSN online program January 4, 2016

Published

Hi!!

I'm starting the RN to BSN online program January 4, 2016. First class is NUR351. I was wanting to reach out and see if any others would be starting this course at the same time. I thought it would be nice hearing from fellow classmates and getting to know one another so we could discuss course and future school plans to help encourage one another! Look forward to hearing from you!!

Specializes in Hospitalist Medicine.

One more week and we're done with our first semester. What's everyone taking next? I've got ECON Principles of Economics and NR 305 RN Health Assessment

We made it through our first semester! Still waiting for my grade in SOSC 350. I ended up with a 99.6% in NR 351, very happy about that :)

Anyone taking ECON? It started today. Holy cow, there's a huge amount of work to do!!!!!

I'm starting in May, taking 351 and eng comp. 2. Overall how would you'll rate the courses?

NR 351 was a fairly easy transition to online courses. Doing all the worksheets practically writes your paper, so not too time consuming. This course only required 2 discussion posts per week on 2 separate days. I felt it was a fairly easy course.

Good luck :)

OMG, Econ is going to be the death of me this semester. 5 and a half hours of homework today because the discussion posts have to be done by Wednesday and I worked Sun, Mon, Tue this week. UGH!!!! Our instructor runs the class like we're all business majors instead of nursing majors. Not a fan of this course so far! :(

On a happy note, I'm liking RN Health Assessment because it uses the same textbook that I had when I got my ADN and the work is similar. Hope everyone else's semesters are going well :D

Specializes in EMS, ED, Trauma, CEN, CPEN, TCRN.

I got an A in Econ, but it took a LOT of work! As I've written on this forum before, I felt like an utter moron for the first few weeks until the Econ vocabulary started to sink in and make sense. Good luck!!

Sure do hope it starts making sense. Econ has never made me "tic" so I have a hard time getting in to the subject. Thanks for the encouragement :)

I'm so happy that they dropped the Econ requirement coming May 2016.

So glad they have finally realized that Econ and Nursing don't mix :)

I only wish they would have dropped it as of January. I absolutely hate this class. The instructor runs it as if we're business majors, not nursing majors. It's the most time consuming online course I've ever taken. A good 20+ hours of homework each week if you do all the practice modules. If you don't do them, you'll never pass the quizzes & tests. Thankfully, we're halfway done and I'll never have to look at it again!

Did they really drop Economics? If so, I am so happy!!!
