RN to BSN online program January 4, 2016

Published

Hi!!

I'm starting the RN to BSN online program January 4, 2016. First class is NUR351. I was wanting to reach out and see if any others would be starting this course at the same time. I thought it would be nice hearing from fellow classmates and getting to know one another so we could discuss course and future school plans to help encourage one another! Look forward to hearing from you!!

Congrats on the new little one. I'm working full time, so I'm doing 2 classes per semester. My advisor said that our classes will open up on Dec. 28th, so we can get a one week head start. I'm off Dec. 30th-Jan 7th, so that will give me a good bit of time to work ahead.

Nice to know we're in this together :)

Thank you! You're right about that!! I look forward to being able to help in any way!! My email is [email protected] if you need anything! Good good luck and look forward to this school year!

Hey I'm doing 2 classes per 8 week session. Unfortunately l I haven't been able to be registered yet until my advisor comes back on Monday the 28th for preview week though she told me the classes I will be taking. I need to know what classes are good to be paired together. Trying to obtain my BSN before the end of next year

I've completed most of my humanities/liberal arts courses & Statistics already, so I only have to take Sociology, Economics & Cultural Diversity in Nursing as my "electives".

My SSA recommended the following course sequence:

NR 351 - Transition to Professional Nursing

SOSC 350 - Cultural Diversity (elective)

NR 305 - Health Assessment

ECON 312 - Principles of Economics (elective)

NR 361 - Information Systems for Healthcare

NR 391 - Cultural Diversity in Nursing (elective)

NR 439 - Evidence-based Practice

NR 443 - Community Health Nursing

NR 447 - Collaborative Healthcare

NR 451 - Capstone

That's exactly how I had it mapped out in my head. I will try to CLEP out for history so I don't have to take history. That way I have a good 10 months for my BSN. Are you already registered to start January 4? Today is the start of orientation week, where we can get a 1 week head start on classes.

Yes, I just got access to my classes this morning. Now I need to get out my planner and map out my study plan. I'm on day 2 of 3 in a row on night shift right now, so I'll use my time off the rest of the week to get organized and ready to go on Monday.

We can do this! :)

Who are your professors if you don't mind me asking? I'm probably going to be registered in the morning. They just finished my transcript evaluation. I only have to take 10 classes so not too bad for me!

we definitely have this in the bag! You guys can feel free to email me anytime. Bnembhard.rn@gmail.com

I only have to take 10 classes, too. We'll be done in October, can you believe it? YAY!!!! I want to get this over with so I can move on to ACNP. Excited to get started.

This might be a bit of a late thought, but why not do an RN-to-MSN if you know that you want to do ACNP?

The hospital I work for will only reimburse for RN to BSN.

Well that's a great reason! Lol. It's nice that you get reimbursed, though.

Yes, absolutely! I'd like to go on to get AG-ACNP when I'm done with the BSN, so I've gotta start saving up as much as I can so I don't have to get too much in student loans.
