Hi!!
I'm starting the RN to BSN online program January 4, 2016. First class is NUR351. I was wanting to reach out and see if any others would be starting this course at the same time. I thought it would be nice hearing from fellow classmates and getting to know one another so we could discuss course and future school plans to help encourage one another! Look forward to hearing from you!!
Hey! omg it's been awhile since I've last posted on here. I'm easing my way into Collaborative Health and Economics. 4 more classes and I am a BSN prepared nurse! Definitely will be going to commencement in February! I would like more details on the matter though. Will be completely my FNP at Chamberlain starting October 24th as well. Excited about that, so that's motivation for me to finish my BSN program with a bang! Hope everyone else is doing well in their studies.
Wow, you're going to be finished soon! Econ was a KILLER, so good luck with that class. It required the most work out of all the courses I've taken so far. Good luck with the FNP!!!!
Did you just take ECON recently? Can you give me any pointers on it? Taking that along with Collaborative so I'm trying to get an idea of how heavy the workload is. Doing all of this while working a FT job, Per diem job, and single mother of a 2 year old. A heads up would be great so I can plan accordingly.

I took Econ during the March session. I'm not gonna lie, it was a TOUGH class. It required about 20+ hours of homework each week just to be able to pass the quizzes with an A. You get 3 attempts to take the quizzes and you'll definitely need all 3 attempts. The thing that frustrated me was the online modules you use called My Econ Lab. In order to move from one quiz module to the next, you have to get all the questions right. Miss one, and you don't get the section marked as "Mastered". If you haven't mastered each section, the quizzes are very difficult. Even though it's open book, it's SO time consuming. On the final, you get 3 hours to complete the exam and you get 2 attempts. It asks randomly generated questions so no 2 students have the same exam. I ended up getting questions on material that we never covered during the course. I ended up running out of time on my 1st attempt. On the second attempt, I made it through. I ended up barely scraping out an A in the class by 0.1 points, that's how hard it was. The only reason I got the A was because I did every single homework module until I had 100% on the mastery. And I made sure to have 100% on the assigned homework questions.
Plus, this course is taught by DeVry, instead of Chamberlain and my prof kept posting follow-up questions in the discussion thread, so we ended up basically having 6 to 8 posts each week. It was a LOT of work! None of my nursing courses have been as time consuming as Econ was.
I haven't taken Collaborative yet, so I'm not sure how time consuming that class is. I only hope it isn't because you're going to be devoting a ton of time to Econ. Maybe it was just my professor, but the amount of work was just way too much for a non-nursing course. I was incredibly happy to be done with it.
That sounds like a complete utter nightmare. I''m going to have my cards dealt in for me then. Just better to be prepared than to be completely caught off guard, especially since I'm nearing the end of my program. Ugggggghhhh so close. I hope US history won't be the same as ECON. I can NOT deal with that 2 terms in a row. Wish me luck! What are you taking btw?

I'm only taking one course in the July session, which is Community Health Nursing (NR 443). I'll have 2 courses in September and then Capstone in November and I'm done...YAY :)
Then it's on to NP
How'd the July semester go for everyone? I'm glad to be done. Community Health Nursing is not my "thing". It was an easy course though, so no complaints :)
Next week kicks off the last 2 courses I need to for the BSN. I still have to do Capstone in November. Getting closer to that finish line!!! YAY :D
