RN to BSN online program January 4, 2016

Published

Hi!!

I'm starting the RN to BSN online program January 4, 2016. First class is NUR351. I was wanting to reach out and see if any others would be starting this course at the same time. I thought it would be nice hearing from fellow classmates and getting to know one another so we could discuss course and future school plans to help encourage one another! Look forward to hearing from you!!

It's officially preview week for my LAST class. YAY!!! Can't wait to be done. Still trying to figure out the topic for my capstone project. Just a heads-up for those of you who are getting ready to take Capstone: the 2 required books for this course are NOT e-books. You have to either order them from Chamberlain or purchase them elsewhere online. This means I have 7 days to get my text books before the semester starts. I wish they had warned us about this so I could have secured my books earlier and had time to find some used ones. I hate rentals, but I may be stuck renting texts for this class if I can't find the books any where else. UGH!

Good luck and congratulations!! I was recently diagnosed with a frozen shoulder í ½í¸©, so will have to put classes off for a few months. I rented all of my books through Chegg . Keep us updated on your progress!!! How exciting! í ½í¸€

Sorry to hear about your shoulder. OUCH!

I bit the bullet and ordered the books from Chamberlain. There was no guarantee I'd get my books before class starts on Monday, unless I paid a fortune for express shipping. Wasn't worth it. My books arrived 2 days after I ordered them. Not too bad. Class starts tomorrow.

Finally in the home stretch!!!! :D :D :D

Hey SopranoKris, RN,

I am enrolled in RN-BSN at Chamberlain as well. My last session will start in January, 2017. I am glad I found this forum at least now :)

I was wondering if you could share those books info for Capstone?

Thank you.

The 2 books are:

Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, 3rd Ed. (ANA)

Johns Hopkins Nursing Evidence-Based Practice: Model and Guidelines, 2nd Ed. (Dearholt & Dang)

Hope this helps :)

Thanks a lot! :)

Any advises for capstone class would be greatly appreciated as well :)

How is it going for you so far?

Capstone is fairly straight-forward. You select a PICO and that is your "project" you work on throughout the course. Milestone #1 is stating the PICO question and giving details on 4 supporting pieces of evidence. The 2nd is an APA paper. The 3rd is a PowerPoint presentation on how you would implement this in your own work environment. You don't have to actually present it where you work, but you have to demonstrate that you can prove by the evidence that your project has merit. Definitely a course to take after you've completed the EBP course!

6 more weeks and I'm done. Hallelujah!!!!

I am officially DONE with my BSN!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woo hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D

Last assignment submitted, only need at 38 on my discussion post to retain my 4.0 GPA. I can't believe I finally crossed that finish line.

Did anyone else finish this semester, too?

Congratulations!!! Graduating with a 4.0 is awesome, I hope you get it!! :)
