I'm going to be starting clinicals Aug. 20th, so let that be my excuse for asking such a strange question, please?:sofahider Ok, here goes:
My husband told me that a few years ago, before I met him, he was hospitalized and had a cath put in. When they were ready to remove it, a nurse came in and "rubbed him" enough to give him an erection. He was embarassed and asked her what she was doing, because he was getting an erection, and the nurse replied that it was easier to get the catheter out that way.
So, please answer me this....Is this common? Or did hubby get a free grope?
Thanks. Sorry if this is lewd; I tried to be pc as possible.

Yikes!YES, my husband DOES have that kind of sense of humor. But I prodded him endlessly last night about it, after he told me about it. He INSISTS that the nurse said it would come out easier; and that she DID tell him she was doing it for that purpose.
Holy cow!! Yikes, I'm surprised she didn't offer to blow the baloon up for him, too.
NurseMike, you made me laugh so hard "I might send her flowers, but I wouldn't respect her."
On a serious note, I'd love to know how to get a hold of that nurse. He was in a military hosp, and it was years ago. So the Serial member Groper is still on the loose.....men beware!!!!

Whoa. Now that he's confirmed that it happened, I'm horrified to think any nurse would do such a thing. I wish he'd have told someone sooner so it could be reported and she could be taken out of nursing.
No amount of 'rubbing' should ever be necesary for inserting or removing a catheter. (Ok, during the cleansing with the iodine you have to swab a couple times with cotton applicators---hardly enough stimuli to excite the patient). I agree that this nurse was just fondling your hubby. Bad enough she did it to an adult, but can you imagine if she was working in peds! If she's in the habit of feeling up her patients its just a matter of time before she gets busted, and that would be a very good thing.

what hospital is this at????????? :)
:chuckle
You do not even need to touch the member to remove the foley.
I still hope that he is giving you a wild tale. Military guys are notorious about tall tales. They could turn finding a four inch minnow into catching and wrestling a six foot shark.
(Any possibility that a Texas cath fits in here somewhere?)

Just deflate the balloon and remove the catheter. No errection is necessary.

The auto-bot filter has no sense of a bad pun, or no sense of humor, or this one never would have gotten by ... :chuckle
Holy cow indeed, if your husband hasn't pulled one over on you (and the rest of us).
