...I mean by one mother! How many of you have worked in L/D long enough to have frequent fliers and how many babies have they had?! Same dad, different dads? Tell you stories!
I'm also fascinated by multiples!

15 pregnancies, 14 living children! Yikes! I have a small family - just my sister and me and our families.

NurseBaby/Elizabeth -- What a great post! Your parents must have been amazing people! Your story tugs at my heart a bit, I have an only who has no cousins and I worry constantly about who will be there for her! I hope she marries into a big loving family! Thanks for sharing such a positive experience of a big family! B.
I know what you mean. DH is one of two and MIL is an only. DH gets along with my family better than I do sometimes. He and one of my brothers are three weeks apart and they all like to fish so it has worked out really well. If your DD marries into a family like mine, they'll spoil her rotten. :) It's overwhelming sometimes, believe me, but worth it.

I have a friend that is currently pregnant with #12. 1 set of twins in there. She is currently 35.
I had a great-aunt that had 16 children. Needless to say, the attendance at her funeral was HUGE!!!

Not a record for the most but our unit recently had an infant that the mom was G8 P1. But. . . Mom was 16. She was a piece of work. Claimed one of the nurses slapped her baby.

Cared for a mother once who delivered 37 week triplets. Yep, big babies at over 6# each and they went straight from delivery to well nursery. Along with newborn triplets, this mama had 18 month old twins, AND a 4 y/o, 6 y/o, 8 y/o, 10 y/o and 12 y/o. Ten kids and she told us she would have more if God allowed. She was a great mama, serene and nurturing.

Serene is a great word for high birth numbered mothers...how could they be anything other.

My dad is 1 of 10 children. I think there are over 30 grandchildren!

I went to school with a boy who was one of 19 kids (all singletons) of a farming couple. He was one of the younger ones. Years later, when I worked in the local Family Planning clinic, several of the young women who were clients were the grandchildren of this couple. I found it rather sad that many of these cousins couldn't name all of their aunts & uncles and some didn't even know of each other's (1st cousins) existance.

When my dh was working for the state in the 60's he had a client who had 24 or 25--all singletons. He couldn't believe it either and checked it out. Yep--all the same 2 parents.

My sister had a baby last Tuesday, and while I was waiting in the waiting room, there was a dad in there talking about this being him and his wife's 12th child. I could not believe someone would be having there 12th child. He looked early 30s. I know that was an uncommon number years ago, but all I could think was wow, how do you feed, bathe, pay for 12 children?

My mother had 12 children but only raised 8 of us to adulthood. We all had the same father. We are very close and most live in close proximity to the rest. 2 girls and 1 boy live about 3 hours away and we still get together several times a year.
During my experience as a maternity nurse I knew a Amish family that delivered numerous babies at my hospital....last count that I am aware of was 15 children. 9 boys and 6 girls. And they claimed they were not finished yet!!!!!!!!!!
Finally, a family lived lived down the street from me at one time that had....without the use of fertility drugs...3 singletons, 1 set of twins, 2 sets of triplets and 1 set of quadruplets...15 kids!!!!!!!!! WOWSIE!!!!! I am still amazed at this family. It was so cool to see them all taking their daily walks through the neighborhood pushing their babies in the strollers.
