Real shortage of nurses or bogus?

Is it true that there is a shortage of nurses or is it fake information spread from nursing schools ? Ohh I wonder?!?. Personally this is another business scam. What you guys think?

Why would I want to get into GWU? One of them most expensive private schools in the United States will not get my hard earned money. Community College will do. Having said that bitterness is not part of me but I believe it's yours. Who know maybe you nwanted to be a compassionate and caring nurse and you failed.

Seems weird that you say this after posting in a GWU thread earlier today, wishing people good luck.

What happened between now and then?

Snap.

Lets start again, OP. Looks like your dishonesty has been checked.

From this angle, it's looking like someone failed out of GWU and is bitter about the experience, blaming the school and everyone else for 'those missed few points' etc etc instead of taking ownership for ones own failure.

Now, because of your perceived loss you blame the school, the instructors and maybe even your peers ... perhaps even blaming society and the media for creating the myth that a huge nursing shortage exists and that ANYONE can be a nurse ...

... and that if you want it badly enough, that's still not enough.

... even if gosh darn it, you're a CUSTOMER. And the customer is always right.

... Which is the worst reason to hand someone a degree that they didn't earn that I know of. Entitlement rings through your posts, OP ...

NOW I'm out .

Lol, it was curveball and you catches on to it. Nice one, I am always a step ahead. No GWU, no issues with society or anything. All is dandy. Like I have mentioned before there is no nursing shortage and yes nursing schools are money hungry cause they have to be, being a business. Also, some of you are affiliated big time and if you are teaching as a so called Professor the. You failed being a nurse because what happened to your calling?

You are aware, right, that all the old threads here are archived and searchable? It's easy to identify that you started a thread last summer about how you had applied to the GWU ABSN program and were waiting to hear back about your application, a thread that you dropped out of after other people started posting about their acceptances and you posted that you were still waiting to hear. Then, yesterday, on the same thread, you posted that "I was" in an ABSN program and the workload was "intense."

Obviously, there is some kind of story here. I can certainly understand that you don't want to share any potentially embarrassing details. But to continue to insist that you have no history and no personal reason to want to repeatedly vilify and demonize the entire universe of nursing education, and vilify and demonize anyone who disagrees with you about that, is absurd on its face.

Happy people don't treat other people as poorly as you are.

The opposite is true. You don't get to be a teacher at a school of nursing until you have at least your MSN in Nursing Education or Leadership and have demonstrated several successful years of full-time, bedside nursing, in a specific area. Most of my nursing school teachers still worked per diem at the hospital where my school was.

Great!!! I'm not upset and I'm just trying to save people from making mistakes and taken advantage. Trust me nothing is happened in the pass that would make me mad I got it made already and set for life. Just trying to help people making sure they don't get all advice from people that are affiliated with nursing school. No person in their right mind would defend nursing schools especially the ones that think of profit I don't care about people. Obviously rural areas have shortages and metropolitan areas no but again I think it's all bogus.

Anyone that comments with "I got it made already and set for life" clearly isn't. There really is no need for your negativity or charades. In researching all of your posts, it looks like you are a bit bitter over GWU.... no need to take that out on the rest of AN.

It is not wise to lie, but to do so when the truth can easily be found (old posts/threads) does not look good. It also isn't nice to accuse people of not being compassionate nurses, you sure make A LOT of assumptions and you know the old saying about assume don't you??

Getting a super trolly vibe from OP. Is there any way to report him/her to the moderators? S/he is being inflammatory for the sake of being inflammatory.

Maybe if enough people report the posts something might happen. I've already submitted mine.

I'm as respectful as I can be. If I have offended anyone...I am sorry...the truth must come out. Why report me? I am the one that brings traffic into this site and you guys are the ones who are affiliated with the nursing schools.

Brings traffic? This isn't Facebook or Twitter. There are a lot of people who are not affiliated with a school who have been completely honest with you including myself. Guess what? I wasn't always doing the best while in school, I struggled two separate semesters but you know what I did? I told myself that I was going to work as hard as I could to make sure I passed. I didn't blame anyone else for my grades but ME.

In the end you are the one that has to learn. Nursing school isn't meant to be led holding hands. That is made crystal clear day one.

Because you regularly violate the terms of service. Your "truth" is based on delusions of persecution. You are far from respectful. And given the million plus members on this site we were doing just fine before you came along. And no, I'm not affiliated with a nursing school. But I graduated from one. Did you?
