Random Thoughts: School Nurses

Published

Random Thoughts about School Nursing not juicy enough for their own topic start here!

My mantra lately: "Wash your HANDS, go back to CLASS and cover your COUGH!"

I did, but she peeled it off.

They are so lax here about cell phones. That's why half the kids text their moms to come running to pick them up and don't even come down to see me. I have complained several times since I have been here to no avail.

Yuck! If a kid texts his/her parent to pick them up, when the parent arrives, the office always calls my office. I always tell them either: 1) I haven't seen that student all day, 2) I saw that student and did not call his/her parent for a pick-up. Then that the kid gets a detention for using his/her cell phone in school.

Jen-Elizabeth, the whole school would be in detention.

Lol! Cell phone are the most common reason HS kids have detention in my school. But detention requires you to come to school one hour early and clean the school. Kids are such a fan of that...;)

3 random thoughts for today

1. If you have a concussion and you cannot make it through Spanish class, you should not go to basketball practice!!!

2. If you give your kid Nyquil instead of Dayquil - just go ahead and keep them home instead of sending them to school for 15 minutes.

3. I don't care if you are physician or not - your kid is held up to the same 24 hour fever free policy even if you disagree and feel that 101.5 should be the standard exclusion.

Best laugh I had today!!!!:roflmao:

It was bound to happen. I'm dreaming about the threads on this site. The vaccine thread and the SN thread in particular, I also had to call a school nurse working nights? (in my dream) named Ebony??. I called her during the day and she was very drowsy.

You guys were all there. It was like The Wizard of Oz.

That night shift school nurse must be bored out her mind. LOL

I HATE "work" dreams. I spend enough time there while I am awake, no need to spend time there when I am asleep as well.
