Yeh right. ..... And I know of the perfect nursing job, high pay, no long hours, no stress, beautiful working area, any hours you want , you can pick the staff you want to work with, you can tell the pt's what's on your mind and there are no potentials for law suites. And the best part is no Pres Ganey and no JCAHO ! Give me a call today at 1800-suckers.

I don't know of the legality, but the ad can be legit. There is a theory (propagated initially by Linus Pauling) that megadoses (gram quantities) of Vitamin C can be beneficial to health, & it has quite a few adherents. Since that amount of vitamin C cannot be absorbed PO it needs to be given IV. And yes ascorbic acid is available IV. So, it may be one of those vitamin C enthusiasts. I doubt an illegal IV drug user would place such an ad.
I'm actually with Fugax on this one. I seriously doubt the guy expects you to put in a peripheral IV and just leave it there for his own use whenever he wants; he said 'regular IVs' so it seems to me he wants one started daily, or weekly, or whatever--and it would be removed at the end of infusion.
We had a thread here not long ago about this very thing: someone was thinking about starting at some clinic to do IV infusions, and they were for some kind of vitamin 'therapies'. Don't recall the tinctures/infusions used, but I remember they were things that weren't MD prescribed, but somewhat out there, quite 'alternative'.
At any rate, the clinic job itself didn't look kosher, and that was the point of the thread.
This guy may very well be one of those seeking some 'out there' route to better health, whether we agree with him or not. The ONLY question is whether it's legal for anyone to start an IV on a person without a specific prescriber order. Because whoever DOES start an IV is obviously responsible for the care of the puncture site, risk of infection, infiltration, what "meds" are being infused and whether they are damaging to the patient. A whole lot of responsibility it seems to me, for anyone with a license to take on in this kind of setting.
I wouldn't do it.

If I was crazy enough to take such a job, it would only be after I moved all my assets offshore, to avoid the collection after the lawsuit I would lose, and rightly so.
I would also have to be about one day from leaving the nursing field, as this would likely get a license yanked.
