Question for anyone who takes colorful notes!

Published

I'm wondering what you use to take colorful notes. I'd really love to buy gel pens, but I hear they take a while to dry and smear easily. Any suggestions?

Also, make sure to buy heavier notebook paper if you go with that option, so that your notes don't bleed through. (Sounds obvious, but people don't always think about it. Speaking from experience here.... :p)

But FIRST, consider if this note-taking method will serve you well in Nursing School. I find it's slowing me down and I focus more on formatting my notes than the content. But, if it works for you, go for it!

Best of luck!

I converted almost everyone in my A&P and Micro class to these bad boys. No smudging, smooth writing.

I second this, only difference is I am anal about my pens and can only use .5mm, but got the paper mate assorted, and use them daily.

Sharpie makes "pens" that do not bleed through at all. I got a colorful 10-pack on an amazon deal one time, and I love them. They're all I use for notes! They work really well for underlining things in the text, too. So smooth.

These were the only pens I liked that didn't smudge on the labels we put on the lab tubes. (And if we smudged, they were sent back to us to redraw.). The lab labels were sort of shiny and the ink dried fast on them.
