I applied to all the nurse residencies in the area wanting to work ER or ICU and all of them only offered me medsurg. I'm not sure what to do but I have a bachelors and 5 years of tech experience. Should I apply to nurse residency programs out of the state ? I do not want to work med surg

I totally get where you're coming from—going back to school later in your career can feel overwhelming, especially with everything else you're balancing. But trust me, getting your BSN can really open doors for you, whether it's better opportunities, higher pay, or more recognition in your field. It's worth considering!
I've been through an online RN-BSN program (not WGU, but similar), and I can tell you that fully online programs are very doable for motivated nurses. WGU's program is competency-based, so you can move at your own pace. Many nurses with an ADN finish in under a year, and the tuition model is affordable if you're able to speed through the coursework. You've got this!
