1) There will never be any pain after surgery/trauma/old age.
Even if we have to put you in respiratory arrest to do it..
3) Death can be avoided if you have the right hospital, Doctor, nurses, meds, etc
4)CPR is 100% effective. Even if you are 95 and demented, have copd, chf etc. They do it on "ER" all the time.
4) if either of the above are not true, it must be someones fault, you can sue them and retire to the Bahamas.
Any more you can think of?

I want to know what happened to #2. Was it the victim of of #3?
Or, I'm allergic to Toradol, Tylenol #2-#4, darvocet, NSAIDs, and aspirin. I am not allergic to Oxy's and Vicodin, however.
"I've been taking Advil 800mg every 6 hours for days and it's not doing any good. Oh, by the way, I'm allergic to Toradol. 2mg of Dilaudid is the only thing I can take." :uhoh3:
Do I have "Idiot" stamped on my head? I must, 'cause I can't count the times I've heard this one!

I had one that went on vacation to CA. The fridge in her suite (this gal is on welfare, I want to know how they do that!) was too cold and it froze her Vicodin. So she called the answering service and they told her to throw the tablets out, they weren't any good anymore since they were frozen and the doc would give her a new Rx.
Didn't work.
I love the alert and oriented patients who refuse to learn how to work the buttons to raise and lower their bed heads and foot. Yet they figured out how to use the call the nurse/CNA button within 10 seconds of being admitted to their room.If you tell them they can use those buttons themselves, it's considered rude and disrespectful.
oh i'd love that one too...i always wonder what happens if the nurse call alert is chargeable with every call?? lol
I think the public has NO idea that the things they tell us are things we've heard 50 million times already. A couple of my favorite lines are:
"Well, my temperature usually reads low so if it says 98.6, I am about to DIE!!"
and this classic..........
"Honey, my veins are sooooo bad. They just roll. They always have to use.....
(ok, everyone...we ALL know what's coming next)...................................................................
A BUTTERFLY!!!!!!"
I'll get what I want if I make personal phone call to my Physician or Lawyer. My usual response is to hand them the phone.
Or, "I'll get what I want if I call the president of the hospital who is a close personal friend." You go right ahead. Like I CARE whether the president of the hospital knows about your NPO status or not.
"You can't tie my leg down! I'm calling the police!" (From an intoxicated fella who had arterial sheaths in said leg following stenting in the cath lab.) He did call the police. The police were too upset over the puke he left all over their patrol car when they arrested him for beating on his ex-wife the LAST time he got all likkered up to care whether or not we had a good REASON for tying his leg down!

(from a patient with bulging veins everywhere) Oh, they always use a baby needle on me. My veins roll, you know.
What do you mean, you can't take the blood for the lab out of there (pointing to the #22g IV reseal)? They did it in the ER!
Nurse! There's air in my IV line!
