Ladies, why is it ok in anyone's mind to wear colored underwear, bikini underwear, or underwear with writing all over them under your WHITE UNIFORMS!?? Why is that ok I ask over and over...no one thinks that that is a bit unprofessional? Really? if we aren't professional in every way then we aren't professional nurses at all..ladies take pride in yourself wear the proper underwear under your white uniforms..

Bikini is fine if there aren't lines and it's flesh-colored. Otherwise, I agree.

The only thing that comes to mind is that some people aren't the brightest bulbs in the pack. Personally, I would be horrified to realize people could see my underwear. With that said, I think white uniforms/scrubs are just mean because I won't even wear white pants on my off days because I would stain them within five minutes! I hate navy too, but I love my navy scrubs =p

They were probably half a sleep when getting dressed.

Sleep deprived, no doubt from working 3- 12s in row before they went to work that day.

I wish we could wear a different color but a patient complained that they didn't know who their nurse was so now we are colored coded....and it still doesn't help ?..And yes, I agree, flesh colored no lines would be fine..but the colored strings that are halfway on the butt is not cute...polka dots and stripes are not hot...be professional and cover your butt at work...in more ways than one!!

This reminds me of a story told to us in clinical back in nursing school. One day a student asked if anyone had a tampon. No one did, but the clinical instructor offered her a sanitary pad from the supply closet. The girl declined, saying that would not work. Why not? Oh, because she wasn't wearing underwear and so couldn't adhere it! So while it's certainly best not to don vibrant colored undies when your scrubs are white, it is most important to ALWAYS WEAR UNDERWEAR! ;)

I wear white pants for school and work and ALWAYS lay out my clothes the night before for this very reason! I do not trust myself at 5 am! Lol

I worked in a place that mandated white underwear under our uniforms. The medical director was very quick to volunteer to be the one checking

I once worked with a nurse who admitted that she did not wear undies. Petite little dynamo that she was. She was good! Few people intimidated me but she did, that's how good a nurse.

As for me, a product of 12 years of Catholic school from the '50s & '60s, I don't wear white underwear anymore. Pastels for me. But when I was skinny, I did wear red ones, but not with whites.
