So I heard a rumor today that the proctors who are watching you as you take the NCLEX know whether or not you passed because it shows up on their computer.
I dont know how true this is, so I was wondering if maybe people could give their input.
I hope it is true because as I left the proctor was like "congratulations on passing!" .. at the time I was so out of it from the whole experience that I thought she just meant passing as in finishing the exam. But maybe it means something more?!! A few of my friends also had winks and congratulations (at other test centers) and they passed too. .
Did anyone have proctors who winked at them or said something similar and did not pass?

hey the people at pearson vue at the test center DO NOT know if you passed I found this out due to talking with a friend who workes at pearson....
Interesting. The official candidate bulletin states that no results are released at the test center, and that the staff does not have access to the results. Perhaps they were making assumptions if you were shut off at 75? Or knowing that no matter who is testing, 85% of the time they will be right.
According to Pearson Vue the people at the test center do not know your results. Even if they did it would be very unprofessional to release them there- especially to some people and not to others.
I believe if they congratulate you it is for completing the test, not necessarily for passing.
oh gosh! i actually had my own experience with this..
i reached 265..as expected, i was the last to go out of the testing area. when i was about to leave, the proctor called me for the fingerprinting. she first asked for my name. i was about to point my name from the screen where the proctor is operating on. to my surprise, i read my name & beside it was a "FAILED" word (it was in a grid form..names on the first column, then "PASSED" or "FAILED" word on the next...FAILED was highlighted with gray, then PASSED was just not highlighted so the background is white).
i was in a state of shock that time as i had read a FAILED word beside my name. the person next to me also has a FAILED word. the third person has the word PASSED.
i really didn't know what to do then. i was tired yet my energy was still rising. i couldn't sink in what i just saw. i was really losing hope the next few days. i was completely depressed, but still kept on praying, as adviced by the concerned members of the other threads.
there was also some kinda pamphlet given before the exam, which i wasn't able to read to due anxiety. i just remembered it when i reached home from the test center. there was a portion that says ABOUT HOW nclex ARE BEING SCORED. the enswer there was that there will be two
that an nclex exam will be scored...first in the test center, then the second will be checked by the Pearsonvue.
..so i was really hoping that when it will be confirmed by Pearsonvue, i would still get the chance of passing.
to my surprise, after 12 days of waiting, i received the result..& I PASSED!!!
i was so glad to have read this thread..i never thought there were also almost the same experiences as mine. whenever i tell this story to other nclex takers, they would always say that they haven't heard of such.
i just hope this experience can help answer the question in this thread..Ü
The proctors at the exam are just that, they do not have access to your results, no matter what anyone may tell you. And this is the official word from Pearson-Vue.
Proctors of any exam never have the results in front of them. Especially an exam of this type. And there are many other exams given in the centers besides the NCLEX exams.
And the above just proves my point from the previous poster. That proctor should also be reported to Pearson-Vue for what they attempted to do but failed miserably at it as well.
proctors don't have a way of knowing whether you passed or failed just after you took the NCLEX, but they know if you failed from a previous attempt to take the NCLEX since it will show on your records after you have done the fingerprinting, alongside the photo that was taken of you before.
Okay, I guess we'll never really know whether or not the proctors know - it seems according to the info that they dont know.. but my proctor congratulated me on "passing" and guess what?
I PASSED! i just found out last night at 4:45am. HOORAY! So despite all the info, I am going to pretend like my proctor knew. I liked her, she was funny, so I am going to pretend she was my friend. :loveya:
I also wanted to say that I left the exam feeling pretty good but then i remembered that people said if you feel good you probably failed.. so after that i was worried beyond belief. Well, let me just tell you - its okay to feel good after the test, it does not mean you failed!

Glad you passed!!!
WHat a horrible statement!!! saying if you feel good you probably failed...I left feeling good knowing that I passed and had someone have told me that was a bad sign that would have caused much un needed anxiety--I never heard that statement before so I slept like a baby that night knowing I did well.
As far as Pearson Vue knowing, I have no idea how that works, I do know though they are double checked by a live human--we are all assisgned a case worker in our state and that person is the one that puts your lic number on line, I know this because a friend of mine didnt get her lic for 6 days --she called the state and they told her her case worker Mindy was out sick and had already called out again for tomorrow.

we'll when I finished they lady practically rushed me to get me of the room. I didn't even have time to raise my hand... I thought it was odd. Like she was watching me specifically to finish.
