Proctors know if you pass NCLEX?

Published

So I heard a rumor today that the proctors who are watching you as you take the NCLEX know whether or not you passed because it shows up on their computer.

I dont know how true this is, so I was wondering if maybe people could give their input.

I hope it is true because as I left the proctor was like "congratulations on passing!" .. at the time I was so out of it from the whole experience that I thought she just meant passing as in finishing the exam. But maybe it means something more?!! A few of my friends also had winks and congratulations (at other test centers) and they passed too. .

Did anyone have proctors who winked at them or said something similar and did not pass?

I think they do know. When I took my last Excelsior exam, after I finished, the proctor told me my grade on the way out. At first I didn't believe her, but sure enough, that was the grade that I got. I bet the proctors aren't supposed to let on that they know, but they probably get a kick out of dropping hints.

Well if they know instantly why the heck can't WE know instantly if we pass or not?? I mean, I'M the one that paid $300 to take the test!! Geez..... (sorry bout the rant lol)

I agree with your rant completely. I dont understand why we cant know right at the site, since the computer already knows...

If the testing site were to give out unofficial results it sure would cut down on a lot of anxiety. And there would be one less topic for discussion on this board!

The results are checked twice once by computer then by a human to ensure no errors

What kind of errors? Like, do they watch our videos to make sure we werent cheating and stuff?

Just a way of double checking that nothing was missed

So has anyone else had any experience with this? im totally freaking out!!

Don't get upset. You most likely passed, based on the behavior of the proctor. At any rate, you can't change anything by getting upset. Good luck to you. Hope you find out the OFFICIAL good news!

Yeah.. I know, I should really just be patient, but its so hard!! :) Just a few more days!

That's an interesting concept... I didn't even consider whether they know the results or not. She was pretty stoic but cheerful. The guy at the front desk was pretty congratulatory on the way out though.
