So I heard a rumor today that the proctors who are watching you as you take the NCLEX know whether or not you passed because it shows up on their computer.
I dont know how true this is, so I was wondering if maybe people could give their input.
I hope it is true because as I left the proctor was like "congratulations on passing!" .. at the time I was so out of it from the whole experience that I thought she just meant passing as in finishing the exam. But maybe it means something more?!! A few of my friends also had winks and congratulations (at other test centers) and they passed too. .
Did anyone have proctors who winked at them or said something similar and did not pass?
oh my gosh i am so glad my case worker was not sick then! I nearly made myself sick just having to wait two days.. I cant imagine how your friend must have felt :)
She knew she passed via Pearson Vues quick results at 48 hours. She couldnt get nursing pay though because she didnt have a lic number. It was more of a frustration for her than anything...
The proctors at the exam are just that, they do not have access to your results, no matter what anyone may tell you. And this is the official word from Pearson-Vue.Proctors of any exam never have the results in front of them. Especially an exam of this type. And there are many other exams given in the centers besides the NCLEX exams.
And the above just proves my point from the previous poster. That proctor should also be reported to Pearson-Vue for what they attempted to do but failed miserably at it as well.
what i had shared from my previous post was actually based on my own experience, which is why im really sure of it. i guess the result in the computer of the proctor is just an unofficial one..maybe pearson still got to check it.
Yes, 20 minutes. I was already an LPN and I had taken that test in 1992 in Indianapolis in a huge building at the fairgrounds with pen and paper. That was stressful. I thought the 20 minutes, 75 question computer thing didn't test a thing.
I misread quetions really easily and have to reread them at least 3 times to make sure I'm looking for what they are asking for. I guess I just assumed everyone else did.
Actually in class, even thought I did this, I was still 1 of the first to finished, out of 100 students.
I think you must be an exception to the rule! :)
I took the nclex a couple of days ago. I went up to 265 questions. After I got finger printed the proctor asked me if she gave me the paperwork about recieving my status online and if I have to retake the test. I didn't think about what she said until a day later after reading some of the theads!! I had a feeling i failed!!! I gave my sister my password for pearson vue to check the results and told her to only call me if i passed. I took a nap cause I haven't heard anything from her. The phone rang. It was my sister. I PASSED.
I took the NCLEX today and mine didn't stop at 75. Naturally I was ******, as I was thinking its going to be a long test. But I got the surprise of my life when it stopped at 76! So on my way out, the person on the front desk chatted with me asking where I went to school, which test did I took, etc. It so happens that her kid went to the same school that I graduated from, so she asked me what was my cutoff and I told her 76. Her exact words were "graduates of American nursing schools normally passes with a test cutoff of 75-76". It was the best statement I have ever heard in a long while (at least at the second I heard it)! But was she implying that foreign graduates who took NCLEX and only got 75 questions are likely to fail? hmm. I know its a bit "ethnocentric", but I hope she's right about her statement for my case!
