New waiting for BON make a decision re expungement and after support
i had my record expunged. Under NJ law I am entitled to check "no" as if the arrest had never occured. I spoke with my lawyer about it and he said I can check no. The state wasn't suppose to release the info to the boards.

New waiting for BON make a decision re expungement and after support
It's been over a month since I took the nclex and passed. I found out a few days after the exam that my finger printing came up positive. The NJ BON said to just send them the expungement papers and dispostion papers. I also included a brief narrative of why i was arrested and why I checked No when they ask if i have ever committed a crime. The BON told me that they will have an answer for me by Aug 6th. I called on the 7th to find out the status of my application and the lady said it has been so busy there that everything was on hold. She said they hired students over the summer and they have misplaced many applications. She then said that it would take a couple of more days to view my record since they have a stack. The lady then said she will call me when she finds out the outcome. I was tempted to call but I tried to be patient. I then get a letter from the boards almost 2 weeks later asking me to send a letter of why I checked "no" and what happened when I was arrested. I sent all this!! I don't understand why the BON didn't mention this to me weeks ago or why they didn't call me back when they said they will. They will now review my application November. Days and days pass. I'm soooo scared that they will not grant my request for a license. I was arrested 10 years ago for shop lifting. Has anyone else had similar stories and experiences??

Not Sure If Nursing Is For Me
I agree being a CNA is difficult. It took me some time to get use to cleaning stool and what not, but in time you might get use to it. I find myself talking about bodily fluids with fellow coworkers during dinner like it was nothing. There's more to nursing than cleaning patients up. I hope you figure things out!! Good luck!!

Background Checks
hi i applied for the boards after i got my expungement. however when calling the boards to ask to tell me my license number over the phone they said my fingerprinting came up positive. I told them I had my record expunged. The representative then said that i have to mail in a copy of my verification for expungement and the court record. I spoke to my lawyer and he said that the state should have not released the conviction to the BON. He made a few calls and found out that the state did not erase/seal my record the day that the judge granted my expungement. They sealed it almost a month later. I took my finger printing a few days before they actually erased my record. My lawyer said I could sue the state because they released my record when the judge ordered them to have them sealed/erased. Will the BON not give me my license now? My lawyer said that since I had the expungement I am allowed to check "no" when they ask if I have ever convicted of a crime. I just want to be a nurse. I was arrested years ago. I hope that giving my expungement letters will clear this up.

Proctors know if you pass NCLEX?
I took the nclex a couple of days ago. I went up to 265 questions. After I got finger printed the proctor asked me if she gave me the paperwork about recieving my status online and if I have to retake the test. I didn't think about what she said until a day later after reading some of the theads!! I had a feeling i failed!!! I gave my sister my password for pearson vue to check the results and told her to only call me if i passed. I took a nap cause I haven't heard anything from her. The phone rang. It was my sister. I PASSED.
