President Biden thread

Published

Wow.  No one has started such a thread yet?

After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days,  apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.

Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week,  by the end of April.

Biden, according to him.   Would Trump have accepted blame?  Biden is a decent person and probably losing a lot of sleep over this.  Trump would just lock himself in his office with a bucket of chicken and watch Fox.  But so what?  What is your point?  Do you think a misguided policy 3 president perpetuated somehow makes Biden more guilty of the suffering of the Afghanis now?  The military intelligence and Biden's naivete about making deals with a corrupt leaders in Kabul are also components. What would you have done?  I don't believe the 20 years was a total waste.  a third of the woman are now educated.  I would have given them the guns, not the men:) But that's a big newly educated class now that will cause trouble for the Taliban.

I still think that between Pelosi, Obama and the Clinton's, who I think Biden probably still has phone contact with, that there is too much brain and Statemanship powers, to not have an ulterior motive re the pull out.

I think they miscalculated somewhat, but I really think that they are relying on China having to fill the vacuum, because of their huge economic investments in both Pakistan and Afghanistan and that is the biggest mistake China could have made!

Afghanistan is virtually unbeatable and Pakistan is so unpredictable with enough firepower and potential for terror, that they are probably the worst country in the world to have a beef with. Even with a level head like Imran Khan, Pakistan is a military run country.

Also if they get riled up which is incredibly likely because they are ridiculously independent people, China will be literally surrounded by enemies! Taiwan, India, S Korea, Japan and Pakistan.

And there's the Muslim factor! If there's any country stupid enough to give Muslims a mutual cause, it is arrogant China! Which would mean that China can only look north to Russia.

If I was in the WH, that would be my strategy! Unite the Muslims and give them a mutual enemy and force South Korea and Japan into an alliance. Pakistan and India would then have a mutual enemy in China and a big headache would be solved!

Since this is a nursing site. I thought in nursing once you accept an assignment, how it is executed falls on the acceptor.

"Well the last shift told me"

Will be met with:

"Why did you do it like that? And it is now your assignment"

Now with President Biden, this is not the case.

I'm not sure what this means.  Biden is accepting the responsibility for the incredible lack of intelligence from the military and other intelligence agencies.  One can only act with the information given to them.  Do you think if we waited for the Taliban to take over even more territories, we would have had an easier time getting out?  You are over-simplifying something based on non-knowledge.  The public is not privy to the information for insiders.  But, if you think you have a better plan, I am listening.

You're not accepting that he is responsible. Youre making excuses.

As for receiving bad intelligence, it seems you are "over-simplifying something based on non-knowledge."

As far as what should have been done differently, I've posted several news and opinion articles on that subject.  You simply disregard them based on the source.  So, enough with the "if you have a better plan, I'm listening".

You are not listening.

Who doesn't accept any responsibility?

What's most telling is that Trump supporters don't seem to want to give Trump and his team any credit for their efforts in Afghanistan after they negotiated the US withdrawals with the Taliban.  Shouldn't we talk about how well situated the state department was to evacuate Americans and endangered Afghanis after Pompeo made that arrangement? Shouldn't we examine how many of those special VISAs were processed and how that system was strengthened and improved to accommodate the flood of applications that were expected during 2020? Shouldn't we talk about the reassurances that the Trump DoD gave us last year?

Oh...and the reality reflected that the previous shift didn't stick around and give report. There was no shift report and none of the cleaning or stocking was done by the outgoing staff while the patient was found lying in feces and vomit.  Now that's all your responsibility but you didn't make the mess.  You'll just keep doing your job and finding all of the things that the last crew ignored, screwed up or intentionally broke while the patient's and family yell at you.

That's a great analogy.  You just don't realize how poorly your analogy reflects upon Trump I guess. .

You still don't seem to understand what deflection represents.  That's too bad that you aren't the author of the accurate analogy.  That last shift was a real doozy, eh? It's always great to run the unit after a bunch of incompetent floaters have been pretending to provide care for a 12 hour shift or two, isn't it.  And with no report.  Yikes.

How long has Biden been in office?

7 months and change...you didn't know that?  He's a couple hours into his 12 hour shift following the staff that didn't know what they were doing, broke the monitors, chased off the support staff and lied in all of the charting before leaving without giving report.

Really, you didn't know that Biden assumed responsibility January 20 after the Trump coup attempt failed?

Supposing the unit is a dumpster fire, the incoming shift should be competent enough to not throw gasoline on it.
