Wow. No one has started such a thread yet?
After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days, apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.
Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week, by the end of April.

Presidents aren't allowed to drive - CNBC
And LBJ would terrorize visitors on his ranch when he would take them for a ride driving in his amphicar and proceed to drive it into the river. And who cares about anyone driver's license? Why Beerman would make a fuss over something so petty - I don't get it. Why should anyone agree with everything any one individual does? That is called idolatry. My life has improved so vastly since Trump has been removed that I would be nit-picking to find fault with Biden at this point. He is a decent man which is all I am asking for at the moment. I have NO expectations of Biden solving the mideast chronic state of crisis. They have been at it since biblical times and are in this conflict for the long run. Hamas and Netanyahu are horrible. Israel is only 20% Haredi and yet they control Netanyahu. The non-Haredi are not supporters of Netenyahu but the situation is much like here in America where the country cannot move ahead because of obstruction of a radical group who is guided by nonsense rather than the principles of diplomacy. The Abraham Accord was always a bunch of crap. Just a way for them to buy our fighter jets. These accord states have not asserted any pressure on the Arabs (there is no Palestinian passport so there is no such thing as a Palestinian) to drop Hamas's insistance on the destruction of Israel. And Netanyahu instigates reprisals by building suburbs in Arab villages and fill them with Haredi who want to populate Israel singlehandly with 6,000,000 people lost in the Holocaust. Roosevelt suggested moving the Jewish survivors of WWII to Alaska. Looking back, that was probably a great idea:) The Haredi would have insisted on going to Israel anyway and they could duke it out by themselves while the other 80% of the refugees would live in Alaska peacefully.

It was a simple question that I didn't interpret as "making a fuss".
I understand Trump is a public figure but how is it that his private driver's license is out there? That would bother me if someone posted a picture of my private license.
What I do think is petty is the question "I wonder if Trump even knows how to drive" which had zero to do with Biden's climate change initiative for electric vehicles.
Ford has received more than 44,000 reservations for F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck since President Biden drove it and Wensday's 5/19 world premier. Many of Fords truck devotees have conservative roots. Teslas electic truck orders just slighlty ahead of Ford. Biden's climate change initiative for electric vehicles would appear to have a BIG boost; expect funding for electrical chaging stations to be met with more acceptance. Will Republican legislators reconsider voting FOR the jobs act now?

That seems unlikely to me unless something dramatic changes in Republican politics.

Does a Driver’s License Fall Under Public Record?
The answer to this question can vary from state to state in some regards, but generally, the answer is yes. Almost all functions of the department of motor vehicles are considered to be on the public record, but this can vary a bit from state to state because each state has control over the laws that affect their DMV.
I question why Beerman would want to make someone's driver's license status a sneering issue. Who cares what his license status is? It's kinda like wondering whether he wears briefs or shorts? But most people who actually have to drive their own cars, give thought to the price of fossil fuels as well as their effects on the environment. I have a few friends who have bought fully electric cars but cannot answer the question "What fuels do we have to use to make the electricity to drive these vehicles?" No one has had an answer yet.

Well, you were the one that switched the topic and said "But looking at Biden in this car made me wonder if Trump even knows HOW to drive? Lots of people who grew up in Manhattan don't know how to drive but he didn't grow up there. Did he have a chauffer in military school to drive him back to Queens for the weekends?'
So who cares if he knows how to drive. That's kind of like wondering if he wears briefs or shorts.

While many functions of the DMV are public functions, this doesn't extend to the release of most personal information. The Driver's Privacy Protection Act protects individual privacy by limiting what personal and identifying information can be released by state DMV.

The answer is Natural Gas or Hydrogen. The technology already exists but it's the fossil fuel industry lobby that is the problem. Their infrastructure and therefore their business model, cannot allow alternatives!
We have Yellowstone and other volcanic areas(California, Washington, etc) to harness the energy for making hydrogen, we just need the infrastructure of filling stations.. Natural gas from fracking which isn't going anywhere, because we have enough reserves to last centuries. Clean, cheap fuel.
Electric vehicles are far worse than every other fuel source, because of the manufactured battery components and then its disposal.

I don't understand your point here. Does every state have a matching law to NY? It never occurred to me that the states that do release one's driver's license would ever distribute the personal information bits that you list above. That would not be the purpose of checking someone's driver's license to see if it is valid. How would the DMV get my HIPAA data?

Natural gas is a fossil fuel that adds to global warming (methane release in processing ) plus problems inherent in transporting it. The governor of Michigan is now playing chicken with Canada to closes the natural gas pipeline that runs under the Mackinac Bridge. How would states that don't have volcanic energy manufacture hydrogen? My point was that buying an electric car when you have to depend on fossil fuel to charge it, doesn't sound like such a good deal. And you're right, that's not to even mention the battery. But I'm figuring that some smart person will find a method to extract the obnoxious metals from the used batteries or come up with a substitute. My Prius is now 10 years old and since I'm not commuting long distances anymore, I expect that it will last until I'm dead:) I can walk or ride my bike almost anywhere I need to be.

Beerman just supposed that Trump or his family is convicted or charged etc, what will you actually think about your judgment over the years? Don't tell me that just because you have toned down your rhetoric over the last few months re Trump that you don't support him because there's many posts attesting to the support.
Will you revise your perspective or just double down. You man enough to admit when you are wrong?
Especially when you have to know that the IRS is stealthily waiting in the wings. I know I am seriously pissed that they allowed him to continue to do all the things he's done over the years. I actually somewhat blame them and they need to be held accountable for their duplicity as well. If either you or myself did even 1/1000 of what he's done, we would be in jail.
I think the justice Dept needs to be put on the spot as well as NY officials otherwise it's the same level of hypocrisy!
