Wow. No one has started such a thread yet?
After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days, apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.
Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week, by the end of April.

Who said it wasn't serious?

Seems logical that just as Trump restricted the opening through threats and other forms of intimidation plus the pandemic effects, a back up like a traffic jam occurred. Now that the opening is no longer restricted, a flow with increased traffic is likely to happen.
What's the news?
It should be more evident that threats to countries results in less cooperation from them in the future and greater animosity as opposed to what the Biden's administration policy of working with the source of the immigration and the countries allowing migration through to be more restrictive and selective.
It would seem that the greater problem is for the republicans, because the southern states are where they are likely to stay, re work and climate, further diluting the GOP and it's voting bloc, prompting greater extreme protesting and further alienating Hispanics.

Thanks for the article.
According to the article "The Biden administration has made headway in recent weeks on its most urgent crisis, reducing by more than half the number of unaccompanied teens and children held in dangerously overcrowded Border Patrol stations and tent facilities."
"Dangerously" overcrowded conditions does sound extremely serious and they use the phrase "most urgent crisis".
Still, I'm not sure this article clarifies what you say as "it's easy to see there is chaos regarding the border situation. " or that Biden is in no hurry to fix it, when the article is saying headway is being made and while numbers are historic it's being handled to the best of their abilities. Biden I think more than anyone is definitely in a hurry to fix it, but like all surges in the past sitting Presidents don't have much power to stop people from caravanning.
It certainly has the potential to return to what seemed to be more chaotic last month, but seems to have settled down, thus the lack of coverage, or perhaps as I said media and public fatigue and other headlines.
I will agree that the situation is serious and it's a tinderbox disaster waiting to happen.

I believe you are correct about Trump. We should move on.
Your governor in Florida would make a good candidate for president.
How would YOU "hurry" to fix it? According to the MSM, Biden has only sent back a little over 40% of families back to Mexico or put them on planes to their countries of origin. The "lame" MSM also complains of lack of press access to the border. Neither of these facts are complimentary to the Biden administration but they are facts. You have never expressed a single idea towards how Biden is supposed to change this Biblically proportioned problem in a single administration. If you want Ron DeSantis to be president you will have to pull him out of Trump's colon. I don't know how you don't even see the irony of your willingness to dump Trump but support DeSantis.

DeSantis, like Trump, also gets things done. Much more articulate and tactful and will appeal to many that are turned off by Trump.
The colon comment was funny, though.
I'm flattered you believe I'm the one who should solve the problem .
For one, as another poster mentioned, I would have left the issue alone until I had a plan in place.

First you say it's a problem which implies a fix is necessary. Then you say to leave it alone until he has a plan in place. Which is it? Is there a problem that requires fixing or not?
I would love to hear an example of anything Trump that Trump managed to get done. The wall that cost $25 million a mile that US TAX PAYERS paid for is being climbed by $5 LADDERS! And how much was spent or diverted? $75 billion dollars?
So I would like you to just name a single thing that Trump was successful at. As for DeSantis, he managed to kill enough people like Trump through inaction re Covid-19 and despite denying the science, he's had to inoculate people. The wealthy and white first, of course,

Of course it was a problem. Jowever, you don't take a tourniquet off a uncontrolled hemorrhage until you have what you need to repair it.
Of course, imo, Democrats arent too upset about what is happening.
There is a long list available without much effort on Trumps accomplishments. You likely disagree with them, but don't pretend you are unaware of of them

He also has the advantage of being a Trump protege (his campaign had a video of him and his child playing "build that wall") and people that are Trump supporters will likely get behind him if Trump gets out of the way. Imagine if Trump does the right thing and steps down and endorses him? Sadly though that would admit defeat, something he seems constitutionally incapable of doing.
I haven't been totally unhappy with DeSantis. I'm certainly not happy with things like denying felons the right to vote after the voters voted that they could, nor his "anti riot" stance. But some of his environmental and other policies I've liked. I also benefited from the lockdown being lifted early and never going back. But overall I can see how he would be a better choice than Trump.

Glad you didn't take the bait. He's had some failures but got things done. Most Presidents in my lifetime have gotten things done, particularly early on. The same can be said for Trump and Biden also. Obviously highlighting failures.(such as the wall not being built, and Biden's border situation)and what isn't being done, or what they disagree with (tax cuts for Trump vs. spending programs for Biden) is what people will focus on.

I actually am unaware of any of his accomplishments. Just saying things doesn't actually make it so.
I tend to dissect things so list just the top five for me.

It really isn't. It's hard to find anyone covering the story today. Most of the stories are from March. Maybe with the Chauvin trial and the tension there the new organizations have moved on but I don't think it's "easy to see there is chaos" and like I said, I don't trust Fox News because they have exaggerated things.
Fox's main story today is the Oscars and it seems to have a racist tone to me about the "wokest Oscars ever" and they already made a big deal that while on camera they don't have to wear masks.
They have one story way down the US page: https://www.foxnews.com/politics/bidens-catch-and-release-migrants-without-court-dates-total-more-than-15300-texas-democrat-says
