 The understanding of political current events and history by devoted Trump supporters is incredibly shallow and simplistic.  

Imagine calling the January 6th committee political theater. I have no patience for that level of disregard for our republic because you are so enamored with a corrupt felon.  Your "joke" that her(our) concern about Trump's attempts to break our republic as "super serious fake" is obnoxious and threatening to this republic.  Honestly, I'm ashamed for Americans who are so deluded and indoctrinated that they have begun to believe that suspending the constitution or supporting that notion would be an act of patriotism.  

It's such a shame that poitical disagreement had been conflated with un-American plotting to disrupt a peaceful transfer of power.  It's more of a shame that millions of Americans cannot tell the difference to save their lives.  Trying to have a discussion with people who believe nonsense and defend the indefensible is impossible.

I watched this the other day.  Biden delivered a good speech.  Kamala evidenced her consistent skill at messaging.

On a side note, they really should market this miracle drug that Trump says Biden is taking to mask the evidence of his deep dementia.  Who knew such a drug existed until Trump pointed this out to us.

Tell Cheney she alone is resposible for her failure as a politician. Her  constituents voted her out. Democracy.  Clarence and Ben have both dallied with corruption.  

Actually, she is not the failure.  She is the canary in the coal mine of Trumpism.  Carson was anti-science enough to catch Covid in the White House mingling with Mark Meadows and the other thugs.  He almost died from Covid but at least he admits it.  How far he has fallen from his career as a surgeon.  I used to admire him but I think his dementia started during his stint in the WH.  Who would buy a $32,000 dining room set for his office and charge it to HUD and think they were going to get away with it?  Someone who is a complete narcissist and think the rules don't apply to him.

Donald Trump himself set up such a low bar for Biden, who unsurprisingly stepped over it, "I demand a drug test!" = "He did a great job, and I'm terrified".

It's easy to imagine that Trump would  expect that any pre-debate drug testing would only involve testing Biden. It seems that a certain measure of Trump's political strategy is simply to belittle his opponents on a personal level.  It's not sophisticated.

I personally don't think Biden has "serious memory problems".  His performance as President has not been one of a man with dementia.  That being said, the President of the United States is probably one of the most important jobs in the world and even if Biden is aging normally, he's too old to be President.  But like people that are voting for a convicted felon that's just a few years younger, I'm not going to consider changing my vote currently.

When Trump supporters make the unsupported claim that Biden is too demented to get their vote I think they aren't trying to sway other people as much as they are justifying their own votes.  It helps them to convince themselves that the lies and corruption and convictions don't matter if the other guy is cognitively diminished. It makes them feel better about their bad choice.
