Wow. No one has started such a thread yet?
After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days, apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.
Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week, by the end of April.

I thought so but thought I would check.
I'm lucky I can eat about anything even as I age. I've never had a delicate stomach. I know a few people that texture is important. Years ago in wanting up up my green leafy vegetable intake I started using organic kale in smoothies a couple of times a week. But I've also cooked with it in soups, and have made a salad a time or two (you must "massage the kale" first). Anyway there is an "kale is bad for you" sentiment of some influencers out there because it might contain an anti-nutrient or some heavy metals. I guess the word is out on that. I also think superfoods are overly hyped.

That said, I get weary of posters not digging deeper and just attacking the source and ignore what is being said.
Yes, weary is a good way to put it.
It's by far the most common type of intellectual lazy responses see here.
So is throwing generalized insults and assigning character traits and values to someone based on who they vote for. It's a distraction from the real issues and a deflection from having to discuss them.
Not pointing my finger at you for those things. Just making an observation.
Tweety said:I agree but saying "more people distrust the media now" is not as Subee said an intellectual lazy response, it is in fact a true statement.
Not sure what you're saying. Are you saying you don't like kale or that it's unhealthy.
Ahhhh. So you that all media lies and it's a true statement because so many people distrust it?

It's uncommon for the members in these threads to criticize a source without discussing the content, IMHO. It used to happen all of the time.
People vote their values and ethics and morals when they vote for Trump. One can't escape the corruption and dishonesty and character flaws of Trump. What one does with the knowledge of those flaws reflects that individual's values.
The real issues include the reality that Trump and his sychophants have intentions which are a threat to our republic. There's no good reason to ignore that threat or not consider it the most important issue.
Pointing fingers rather than taking responsibility is a pattern that flows from the top of the republican party.

Please don't' spin that I am saying "So you that all media lies...". Which I think is missing something, but maybe you mean "so you think that...."....."so you're saying that...." or "so you believe that....."
The statement was: Unfortunately I think most people do not trust any media. Not like they use to anyway.
I said this is a true statement. However, I will stand corrected as it didn't register the poster was saying "any media".
One study I'm looking at says 39% of Americans don't trust any media, so that wouldn't qualify as "most people". But the sentiment I was thinking of is that compared to the past, people trust the media less.
QuoteTrust in media had previously dropped to 32% in 2016 before rebounding slightly. Those gains have essentially been wiped out, according to the poll.
Details: Only 32% of the population reports having "a great deal" or "a fair amount" of confidence that the media reports the news in a full, fair and accurate way.
The only other time in recent history that trust has fallen to 32% was in 2016.
In some cases, the sentiment is worse today.
A record-high number of Americans (39%), say they don't trust the media at all. That number has steadily increased since 2018.

It's designed to create a "othering" or to dissuade one from voting so that they are not precieved as whatever nasty attribute has been assigned to the candidate.
"You vote Trump, you're like totally voting for Hitler ".
"Did you know a supremst voted for Trump? If you do that means you are a supremist too"
"There is republican and theirs MAGA" MAGA bad. Don't be MAGA.
I guess democrats are rampant rapist! You know, cuz Jeffery here donated money to them.
If the precedent has been set......
"Jeffrey Epstein donated to several Democrats throughout 1990s and early 2000s

There's been a noticeable effort to undermine public confidence in the media, in general. From Palin whining about MSM to Trump and his Fake News mantra the agenda is clear and consistent.

Again, your logic is flawed.

The point being we know about the candidates flaws and shortcomings, and downright wrong doings and we have to weed through it and we still decide to vote for them. In a way we're condoning their actions, and in a way we're voting on issues that they support that matter to us and having to set their actions aside.
We have to own that.

Sure. That's a good point. 👍 However it's a cheap tactic to attribute certain values on people for who they vote for. Or who voted for the same candidate. Millions of people who vote for trum0 are not nazi rapists. However as evident in these threads, some may suggest that they are.
I will vote Trump because unfortunately with his flaws, we need a strong leader with the termoil of the world and Biden is not strong. Other countries laugh at him. There is only 2 choices. And I believed all the propaganda about Trump 2016. However he didn't do exactly what the fear mongers said he would.
I genuinely am concerned with Bidens cognition. This is the primary issue for me.

Did you hear Trump's rally in the Bronx today? His dementia is galloping along quickly. Hardly anyone showed up but he willnrag tomorrow about how he has the Hispanics in his bag.

Gotcha. I might have misunderstood. She quotes someone and said "that's an intellectually lazy response" but perhaps meant not the poster's response but the idea that people don't trust the media is an intellectually lazy response and I was confused.
