Wow. No one has started such a thread yet?
After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days, apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.
Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week, by the end of April.

QuoteIn November 2016, American conservatives stood on the verge of greatness. The election of Donald Trump to the presidency was a triumph that offered the best chance to reverse the left's incessant march of progress for its own sake. Many of the best accomplishments, though, happened only in the last year of the Trump administration, after our political appointees had finally figured out the policies and process of different agencies, and after the right personnel were finally in place.
The final year of the Trump administration was their best. Chew on that for a minute.

I can't disagree with that. The Trump administration was a very good time for conservatives. I said at the time one of the reasons Republican leaders put up with Trump's embarrassments was that he got some of their agenda done. Most notably was the tax cuts, but also things like conservative judges on the Supreme Court and around the country, deregulation, immigration law enforcement, etc.
Sarcasm alert: I love the idea that America needs to be rescued from the grip of the radical left.

What you describe has nothing to do with "reproductive rights".
It sounds like someone arguing in favor of euthanasia.

The final year of the Trump administration as we passed 600k covid deaths and our economy was shedding jobs, that was the best for Trump.

The vaccine and the aid packages for covid happened during his watch. I won't say he couldn't have been a better leader but the stupidity of the American people themselves caused a lot of deaths.

Maybe that's what they were thinking, but since they didn't say what, specifically, about the last year was the best, we are left to wonder. In the last year of the Trump presidency, the president was the largest spreader of misinformation about the disease that was killing thousands of Americans everyday. He contributed and encouraged the stupidity. It was the best year of his presidency.
And so it begins

Summary
The US House of Representatives will open an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden
The most senior Republican in the US House, Kevin McCarthy, says the inquiry will focus on "allegations of abuse of power, obstruction and corruption"
McCarthy says his party had uncovered what he called serious and credible corruption allegations that Biden had profited off his son Hunter Biden's foreign business dealings
Biden has denied being involved in his son's business ventures overseas
So far, House Republican-led investigations into Hunter Biden have not found any direct evidence of wrongdoing by the president
Here's a Democrat point of view, they are going on about Trump. Really there shouldn't be a connection between Biden's impeachment and Trump's but the host couldn't help herself saying it's the natural discourse.
One thing I don't like about it all is the idea of "no raising the debt ceiling without impeachment". Doesn't make sense of me.

Yep, that's going to be the Democrat and media narrative. It's all about revenge. You'll probably others parroting this all this week.
QuoteSen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) joined the growing number of GOP senators who have expressed hesitation over whether an impeachment inquiry into President Biden would move forward in in the Senate.
Tuberville said that the Senate will have to "wait and see what happens,” noting that the upper chamber "couldn't get the votes" to convict Biden in an impeachment trial.

Tuberville says Senate 'couldn't get the votes' to impeach Biden
Political theater. It's a inquiry looking for evidence rather than an inquiry following evidence. I'm sure it's just a coincidence that Trump demanded impeachment before the House Republicans made the decision.

It doesn't make sense to you because it doesn't make sense. There is a republican bill in the House that provides for most of the "demands" in the shut down threat. They don't want the things as much as they want to threaten Biden's administration with a shutdown. They don't care that a shut down will hurt people and the country. It's all about theater and threats in the right wing caucuses.
