Wow. No one has started such a thread yet?
After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days, apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.
Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week, by the end of April.
In 1981 a president stepped in to stop a strike of air traffic controllers.

QuoteOn August 5, an angry President Reagan carried out his threat, and the federal government began firing the 11,359 air-traffic controllers who had not returned to work. In addition, he declared a lifetime ban on the rehiring of the strikers by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). On August 17, the FAA began accepting applications for new air-traffic controllers, and on October 22 the Federal Labor Relations Authority decertified PATCO.
Of course, in this instance the strikers were actual employees of the federal government.

The Senate on Thursday voted overwhelmingly to impose a labor agreement between rail companies and their workers who have been locked in a stubborn stalemate, moving with uncommon speed to avert a potential holiday season rail strike that would jeopardize shipping across the country.
Passage of the measure cleared it to be signed by President Biden, who just days ago made a personal appeal for Congress to act to impose a labor agreement that his administration helped negotiate earlier this year but that had failed to resolve the dispute. He was expected to sign the bill quickly, racing to stave off any economic fallout that could come from a work stoppage in the coming days.

Another day, another lie.
"I don't know why she chose to lie in this way on an issue where we've established Joe Biden has basically avoided the southern border like the plague. Not just in terms of his career in the White House, but in terms of his career as a senator as well," Fox News contributor Ben Domenech said Thursday on "Varney & Co." "And it's something that I think it's just a blind spot for this entire White House, this entire administration, that would really prefer that they didn't have to deal with any of the ramifications of the policy choices that they've made."

Cornell University's Legal Information Institute defines interstate commerce as "... the general term for transacting or transportation of products, services, or money across state borders." This likely applies to many large healthcare systems.
That is a very interesting question you bring up. I found another definition in the regulation:
§ 776.29 Instrumentalities and channels of interstate commerce.
(a) Typical examples. Instrumentalities and channels which serve as the media for the movement of goods and persons in interstate commerce or for interstate communications include railroads, highways, city streets; telephone, gas, electric and pipe line systems; radio and television broadcasting facilities; rivers, canals and other waterways; airports; railroad, bus, truck or steamship terminals; freight depots, bridges, ferries, bays, harbors, docks, wharves, piers; ships, vehicles and aircraft which are regularly used in interstate commerce.
It seems to me that a thing must be used to facilitate the transportation of another thing or person to constitute interstate commerce. Why would this affect nurses strikes unless they were federal workers? Nurses at ABC Hospital System and strike separately at the facility in which they work without the entire system going on strike. And I'm not sure that even if the entire system decided to go on strike, it would be an issue of interest to the federal government.

An error? I would have thought she would have been expecting and prepared for that question. And, it's pretty common knowledge Biden hasn't been to the border.
Anyway, maybe it was an error. I'm sure she has or will correct herself at the next briefing?

If she does, the top journalists of Fox News will be all over it! That is, if they can break away from Hunter’s laptop.

QuoteThe S&P 500 closed slightly lower on Friday, although major indexes rallied off their worst levels of the day, as the November payrolls report fueled expectations the Federal Reserve would maintain its path of interest rate hikes to combat inflation.
The Labor Department's jobs report showed nonfarm payrolls rose by 263,000, above expectations of 200,000 and wage growth accelerated even as recession concerns increase.
The U.S. unemployment rate remained unchanged, as expected, at 3.7%.
Wage growth has been in an uptrend since August," said Brian Jacobsen, senior investment strategist at Allspring Global Investment in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.
"We will have to see that trend reverse for the Fed to be comfortable with a pause. Until then, they’ll continue to taper towards a pause."
Investors have been looking for signs of weakness in the labor market, especially wages, as a precursor to faster cooling of inflation that will enable the Fed to slow and eventually stop its current rate hike cycle.
Gas prices are also down dramatically in interior Alaska.

Is this another example of a social conservative who is manipulated by propaganda and lies in their preferred media?
QuoteAccording to federal prosecutors, false information began to spread online in August that doctors at Boston Children’s Hospital were providing hysterectomies and gender affirmation surgery to patients under the age of 18. The hospital does not perform those procedures on minors, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors allege that on Aug. 31, Mr. Lindner called the Boston-based National LGBTQIA+ Health Education Center and left the threatening voice mail for one of the center’s doctors.

Murdering doctors is a missionary tradition on the right.

Also, it'd be interesting to see if Congress tried to step in if a nurse's strike was nationwide. I'm not aware of that ever happening.
