President Biden thread

Published

Wow.  No one has started such a thread yet?

After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days,  apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.

Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week,  by the end of April.

I provided you with a lengthy explanation of what was wrong with the article, it was poor journalism in a number of ways; it failed to provide fairly easy to find context and it pushed a position not supported by it's content.  You had argued in presenting the DailyWire article that Biden had decreased border security, which wasn't supported by the article, and the Axios articles only supported that people were travelling to the border, not that it was less secure now compared to before.

If the numbers of people at the border are now overwhelming the security is in place that just months ago was sufficient, then I'm not sure why you cant see that the border is now less secure.

Some are so focused on the sources I presented.   Does the sheriff for that area not have any credibility on the subject?

Beerman, you have no idea how invaluable these people are. Within my own sphere of experience, my renters may cause some damage, my sheetrock guys are in and out in three days and they paint as well. They clean up after themselves and usually know other tradesmen who are equally efficient. Hire an American crew and they get stoned or drunk at lunch and become useless. They want more money and cause too much trouble.

What about your vegetables and fruits? Meat? You want to pay twice what you currently pay? Nannies, caretakers, office cleaning? These are personal references from friends and acquaintances. They are trustworthy and hard working. Quiet and polite.

They do the work you can't get Americans to do. They never cause trouble or impose because they have too much to lose.

I personally welcome them and just wished that more of my fellow Americans behaved half as well or conducted themselves with the dignity they do.

So the reason Biden is at fault for the increased traffic at the border is that he is President?  And that the President should have been aware that this would happen and have acted on it?

The sheriff completely reversed his position on whether or border fence or wall was useful compared to manpower and "virtual" fencing, based solely on who was President, so no, he would appear to have given up credibility on the topic.

"They are trustworthy and hard working. Quiet and polite. "

"They never cause trouble or impose because they have too much to lose."

I hope you can see how inhumane this repeated sentiment is?

Sounds like you support a "open border" policy?

Yes, he is at fault and should have been prepared.  The real issue is that he and the Democrats are just fine with how this is playing out.

"Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) slammed the Biden administration for how it is handling the unfolding border crisis and alleged that it is “purposely withholding” information on the number of migrants being released into the U.S."

Biden's administration essentially walked in cold on January 20 after Trump's team rejected the idea of am orderly transition.  But yeah...they totally should have had this all under control within 60 days.

Your opinion of what Democrats want is noted, again.

I hope you can see how superficial your statement is?

Purposely withholding numbers, eh?

Sounds like you are being impulsive as usual.

Give the man a chance. It's only been a short time. Just like he's sorting the vaccines, he's appointed the right people and they will get it right.

How lazy.

It's pretty common here, though.  Instead of bashing the website because it slants a certain way, why don't you tell me what in any particular article you disagree with,  and why?

What are NewsGuards qualifications to judge anything?

Just about any source we all use here has a bias.  That doesn't mean everything they report us wrong.

I also posted three Axios articles on the crisis at the border.

Call me lazy but I never click on a story from the Daily Wire.  Daily Kos or Alternet et al.   While what they post may be accurate in some way the headlines are off, they twist and turn and slant to fit a certain agenda.

Instead I will take the idea and Google it and find a better source to read, even if that source is Fox, so I'm not entirely lazy.  But I won't read those site.

I'd rather stick with sources that present the story more matter of factly.
