Wow. No one has started such a thread yet?
After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days, apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.
Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week, by the end of April.

Did you read the axios articles? 117,000 unaccompanied minors expected. 6000 unaccompanied 16 and 17 year olds last month.
I'm surprised you don't see this as a crisis.
What would you have us do...re-implement the Trump cruelty as a deterrent?

No, the story says room for 2000 more is being made. 20,000 is what will be needed.
46 minutes ago, subee said:So you listed your greivances; do you have any solutions?
My solution would have been not to elect someone who we all knew would exacerbate the problem.

Ah, liberal economics. I'm betting those houses being built arent sitting empty are they? Unless, of course it's in a location where liberal covid policies have wrecked the local economy. Housing prices are a result of what people are willing to pay for it.
What makes you think those construction workers are being imported? Oh, wait. You say they need somewhere to work when they get here. So, they arent being imported? So, how in your mind are they responsible for high housing costs?

The result of Biden's actions is well over 100,000 unaccompanied minors arriving at our border. How many will be abused or die on the way? We'll likely never know.
That is much more cruel.

What "actions" are you referring to? He's made no changes to asylum requirements or citizenship requirements. Do you mean that the US seems a lot more desirable now that it's not run by a corrupt narcissistic authoritarian despot?

So you have no ideas only criticism based upon the most recent partisan propaganda to tickle your ears and eyes? Yeah...maybe we should return to Trump's policy of intentional cruelty? Is that your suggestion?

I'm the child of immigrants who produced an engineer, a lawyer, an entrepreneurial nurse and a soon to be IT analyst. My father owns his own law firm and employs 17 people, mother is a history professor.
I'm pretty sure that your ancestors were immigrants as well! Yet, you choose to denigrate people who are looking to improve their lot in life.
Do you think that you are better than they are? That your happiness is more illuminating than theirs or possibly that your unhappiness transcends theirs?
Unless you are an American Indian, then you are the product of immigrants! I'll also wager that those same immigrants will end up being happier than you will ever be and likely contribute more.
I've traveled extensively and every where you always see crass Americans judging the locals, even in Europe. You are no better than anyone else but likely worse based on your comments about people. I guess like Trump you would prefer our immigrants arrive from northern Europe except if you had any idea what they think of Trumpists, you would reform your ideas.

I've brought up the issue of that our border facilities are being overwhelmed by immigrants. Overwhelmed by those trying to enter both legally and illegally. I have not said anything to "denigrate people who are looking to improve their lot in.life."
Although, I might have unkind things to say of those who to improve their lot in life, have sent their children with smugglers so that they can someday join them.

I believe I said that above. He got his Costco size package of executive order pens, and started reversing Trumps policies.
How would you explain reemergence of masses at the border?

My bold.
Your opinion is not interchangeable with fact, particularly when it involves political analysis. While you are welcome to your opinions, that tactic of claiming consensus where none exists will not work with people who pay attention to details. Trump did that often with the press; "as you all know, probably better than me..." on to some fabrication, delusion, misrepresentation or lie.
Trump modeled and normalized quite a number of unacceptable social behaviors and attitudes. IMV

You ignored the part where he explained that in the content you quoted? That's rude. It's also called cherry picking.

Beerman, why do you think they are doing as you suggest?
I don't have any kids yet, but have you? Or simply been around kids? Do you really think that any parents whose entire universe is wrapped up in their children would willingly endanger them?
Have some respect man! Seriously, do you understand biology? Unless you walked in those folks shoes, don't be judging them.
Look at the beam in your eyes before talking about the splinter in someone else's eyes.
