President Biden thread

Published

Wow.  No one has started such a thread yet?

After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days,  apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.

Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week,  by the end of April.

I'm thinking more like when he repeated over and over how Texas and Georgia were implementing Jim Crow laws.  He wasn't mistaken.  He knew damn well that wasn't true, but he kept saying it.

Imagine the racial divide that kind of rhetoric has the potential to create.

You said I'm "OK" with Trump lying as long as he gets results.  I made the point that we all make compromises when it comes to who we elect.  And now, your response is that at least Biden doesn't lie all the time.

I did not say "at least Biden doesn't lie all the time", I said that I disagreed with that statement and then pointed out that he does lie and make mistakes.  This is an acknowledgment partly agreeing with what you said.  I didn't even say I supported him, but that he and those giving him advice and figures should be more careful and fact check themselves/himself.

I do agree that we have to compromise when it comes to whom we elect.  As a gay man, I've had to choose the least homophobic of homophobes.  Still if there were an election between Biden and Trump for 2024 I'd go with Biden despite his failings.

Obviously the Georgia voting laws were not Jim Crow and clearly he knew that, but I wouldn't necessary that he was lying and stirring up racial divide.  The idea that those laws were "Jim Crow 2.0" didn't necessarily stem from him.    But I certainly can see how those who made the laws and those that support it would be offended.

But this whole "Trump lied...well Biden does too" or visa versa thing I'm not going to do.  When someone points out Biden's lies, I'm not going to respond with "well you supported a lying President" because that's a weak response.  Even though I find it quite interesting that Fox News and people like Lindsey Graham are suddenly concerned about honesty and integrity in a President.

Well, the current president lies all the time.  And had a previous presidential campaign come to a halt because he was dishonest.  So, there's that....

And yet you say Matt Gaetz is exonerated.....you fell for that Newsmax crap?  Meanwhile the guy tweets a photo of himself with his head on Kimberly Guilfoyle's boobs and call himself cool:  the guy is a sick pup.

Once again, you have your facts wrong.  I didn't say he was exonerated.  I said based on the extortion issue, and the fact it's been 6 or 7 months he has supposedly been under investigation without being charged, it doesn't appear he is "going down" as another poster suggested.  I may eventually be proved wrong, but thats how it looks now.

I'm just thinking about how many times Trump was "going down" over the last 5 or 6 years.  Perhaps it's those on your side who keep falling for the narratives the liberal media feeds you?

You'll have to tell me what Newsmax says.  I'm not familiar with that story.

It's sort of like the expectation that Hillary Clinton was going to jail, right? What were those crimes again? We can at least list the legitimate investigations into these "conservative" clowns and not have to be satisfied with the rhetorical musings of political pundits on right wing radio or cable television imagining such things.

The people who said Trump was going down were right.  It's just that they were willing to wait until the election to make their voice heard. That couldn't have been easy, especially when he made so many incendiary comments directed at certain segments of our population.

He continues to say he won the election, and somehow his victory was "stolen".  For me there is no yeah he said that, but-- insert whichever equivocating thing you like.

No.  Full stop.

That's where I got the story you were reporting.  As much as I want for Trump to pay for what he did to the country, I make no predictions.  I don't read liberal media so I won't be influenced.  I am only following what I can find about how the cases are being worked with SDNY.  They are the only party that counts.  Not the media and especially not the commentators.  I tend to get my slant on politics by observation only.

No, the people who said he was "going down" were saying he was going to be led out of the White House in a orange jump suit.  You can go to the blue side of AN and see many of those old posts.  And continued here, mostly by Curious guy.

Another sign of dementia.  Biden's uses cheat sheet in Louisiana.

Maybe he should have just thrown paper towels instead.

The last president used "cheat sheets" quite famously...but Biden's notes are troubling for Fox News "conservatives"? That propaganda outlet depends upon their fan club to be unaware of Trump's misspelled and amusing notes.
