My husband and I debated for several months on whether or not to wait until I am finished with school to have a baby. We decided to go for it and got pregnant the same month :)
I will be in PEDS/Med Surg II next semester, then I will deliver my last semester - March 2009 (I am going to try to get induced over Spring Break - 8 days before my due date).
Anyone else expecting while they are in Nursing school? Anyone accomplished this or know someone who has? Any advice?
thanks :)
You can do it as long as your health cooperates. my husband and i had our 2nd baby planned to the t, get pregnant in october and have the baby during this summer. well god had something else in store. in my 5th month i started swelling and had high bp. i was admitted to the hospital in the end of my Adult health class and was there for a month. i actually took my last test and final in a hospital bed and my daughter was born premature weighing 1lb 8oz on 5-15-08 and wasn't due until 8-8-08. i had to sit out the summer semester which pushed me back from graduating this december to this coming May. Long story short, if this is what you want go for it. I'm a firm believer in everything happens for a reason, even in my situation. Good luck!
I guess I spoke too soon. Unfortunately I think, and the dr's think, I am having a miscarriage. I've been bleeding and cramping and when they took my hcg levels they were 11 (and i was 6 weeks, so it should have been about 2500). The dr in the ER could not confirm through ultrasound but I have a follow up appt with my ob/gyn and they said he would be able to confirm it once taking my hcg levels again. But I want to thank everyone again for their support and say i wish all the mom's expecting the **Best**! HOpefully i'll be making my original announcement again in a few months!

My best friend did it. Had twins in Jan 03 and took that semester off. She returned that fall and is now a NICU nurse.
Good Luck!
