I plan to apply next week as a transfer student from Suffolk I currently live in Suffolk so I will miss out on the Nassau County points. I have never been in any kind of nursing program so I will get an extra five points that way. So far my grades are

Stats: B

Eng 101:B+

Eng 102: A

Chem: B

A&P1: B+

Lifespan dev: A

Psyc 101: C ;[

His 101: A but I am unsure if this is the history they accept

Sociology: B+

I am currently taking a&p2 at Suffolk Community College but obviously will not be finished until December.

On my teas exam that I received

Math: 84.4

Reading 63.8

English 62.5

With that being said does anybody know what my overall point score would be I also have other credits through Suffolk Community College but I think these are the only important ones that count towards nursing. I am wondering if I will get in with these scores and grades I plan to apply next week.

Do you guys happen to know how much GPA plays a factor? Reason I ask is I had gone to school for four years and recently decided on switching what I wanted to do to something very different than what I started with and my GPA greatly suffered from what I originally wanted to do. However, the classes that they'll look at/take with the nursing program I've gotten A's in so curious how much GPA is a factor.

I applied today my gpa is a 3.4 and my teas are Math:94, Reading :83, Grammar:71. So nervous to hear back from them!

I spoke to the woman in the nursing dept. and she said they only look at the classes that pertain to the nursing curriculum and take your gpa out of that. So you should have a good chance if your pre reqs for nursing are good grades

You are honestly my hero that you said that, I just need to get the other classes I can get done but I plan to do well in those, you just made my night!

I got an 80% on the TEAs, and took all of the prereqs (mainly B's and C's) with a total rubric score 73.25.

Applied for Fall '18 admission evenings after being denied from Suffolk since I'm a Nassau resident.

TEAS:

Reading: 89.4%

Math: 93.8%

English: 75.0%

Prereqs:

A&P 1: A

ENG 101: A

ENG 102: A-

Stats: B

General psych: A

Lifespan psych: A

Sociology: A

History: A

I'm just looking into Nassau since I was pretty confident I was going to go to Suffolk until I was denied... can anyone point me in the direction of Nassau's rubric so I can calculate my score?

Thanks!

I'm honestly shocked you were denied because your scores seem really great!

Also Nassau doesn't seem to have a point system I just looked at past forum's to help give me an idea
