Nassau Community College Nursing: Fall 2021 Applicants
I didn’t take the Nelson Denny! Only the TEAS is required after admission, but they don’t look at the overall score to determine your preparedness. They just wanna make sure you score above certain percentages on the Math and Reading Comprehension sections; if you don’t, you have to take remedial courses. Luckily my scores are high enough and I can go straight in to the Nursing courses!! I had no idea!! Even though I’m committed to Molloy, I’m curious to see if Nassau would have accepted me too!

Nassau Community College Nursing: Fall 2021 Applicants
Hey guys!! Crazy update, but I actually ended up getting accepted in to Molloy’s BSN Program that starts in Spring 2021!! I still plan on applying to Nassau for Fall 2020 just in case something goes wrong with Molloy, (even though I doubt it) but I couldn’t be more ecstatic!! PLEASE make use of this thread and talk to one another! I have faith in every single one of you!!

Nassau Community College Nursing: Fall 2021 Applicants
Hey guys! I know it’s kinda early, but I figured that I’d start a thread for the NCC Nursing applicants for Fall 2021. Here we can post our stats, discuss the program and freak out together while waiting for admissions decisions? here’s what my stats look like: I took the TEAS this year (end of May 2020) and got a 77.3%. However, I’m retaking it in July for a more competitive, and hopefully an advanced/exemplary score! Prerequisites that I completed (all from Suffolk CC): Anatomy/Phys I: B Anatomy/Phys II: B ENG 101: B+ ENG 102 (Literature): A Lifespan Dev: B Modern American Hist: C Psych: A Statistics: A Sociology: B Western Civ: B Medical Micro and Biomedical Ethics: To be completed during the Fall 2020 semester Pathophysiology: To be completed during the Spring 2021 semester (hopefully!) The only disadvantage I have right now is that I currently live in Suffolk County. I know that priority is given to Nassau residents, and I’m not really sure how the school calculates their admissions decisions (and I couldn’t find a rubric on the website). I look forward to hopefully meeting some of you, and hopefully we‘ll all be in Nursing school together one day!!

FALL 2020 Suffolk County Community College SCCC
Thank you so much for this? I have run into a bit of an issue though. I have taken the TEAS already twice during this calendar year (one test through Nassau the last week of May and one test through Suffolk on June 1st). I took my first test through Nassau, and even though I haven’t submitted my scores from Nassau to Suffolk, I’m not sure if I can retake the TEAS one last time to get in for 2021. I’m not sure if the one test I took through Nassau counts as my first attempt, or if my test that I took yesterday through Suffolk is my second and last attempt for a full year? I’m super bummed. I have e-mailed everyone I can think of from Suffolk and still, nothing yet. I’m not sure if I have a second chance. Does anyone know if I have a second shot?

FALL 2020 Suffolk County Community College SCCC
Hello everyone!! I just took the TEAS (for the 2nd time ever) virtually today (due to COVID-19), and I scored a 77.3% (LITERALLY 0.7 points away from getting advanced.. bummed is an understatement as advanced was all I wanted!). I've been overthinking all day about whether or not it's worth it to retake the TEAS again for what would be my 3rd time. I know of SCCC Nursing RN graduates who have gotten into the program with proficient TEAS scores (lower than mine). I was hoping if you all could give me a little feedback (and hopefully some encouragement) if I share my stats. TEAS SCORE (2nd time around): 77.3% (0/25 points towards rubric score) INDIVIDUAL TEAS SCORES (Max 48 points) Reading Comprehension: 80.9% (10 points) Math: 81.3% (10 points) Science: 70.2% (8 points) English/Language Usage: 83.3% (10 points) SCORE: 38/48 RELEVANT COURSEWORK (Max 25 pts) BIO 130: B (3pts) BIO 132: B (retaken) (3pts) ENG 101: B+ (3.5pts) ENG 102: A (4 points) BIO 244: Outstanding (I'm set to take it Fall 2020 at SCCC!) MAT103: A (4 points) SCORE: 15.5/25 points ADDITIONAL COURSEWORK (1 point) PSY 101 (0.25) HIS 101 (0.25) HIS 104 (0.25) PHL 211 (Not taken) SCORE: 0.75/1 TOTAL RUBRIC SCORE: 54.25 I appreciate it well in advance more than you all know.. these classes and tests are hard and challenging. I feel discouraged more than ever, since I've always been a 3.5 and above student; science has never been my strong suit. I hope everyone is staying safe and well during this COVID-19 pandemic! My plan is to try for part-time just to see if I have a shot of getting in, and if I don't, then I'll retake the TEAS in November/December to try to get that advanced score.
