Whom else is applying for this Spring? How apprehensive do YOU feel about it? How are your stats?

I'm honestly shocked you were denied because your scores seem really great!
As was I! I was unaware they accept all Suffolk residents first before even considering Nassau residents. I'm in Long Beach so hopefully Nassau accepts me based on my residency. I was pretty bummed since I work in Suffolk and it would've been convenient.

That's honestly so weird especially since they definitely have a larger nursing program or at least all three schools they have have a nursing program

NCC does have a point system. its 10 points for being a Nassau resident, 5 points for never being in a nursing program. points for the grades youve gotten for the classes you have taken. you can calculate this by lets say you got an A in A&P 1 so an A is 4 and you times that by how many credits so that would be 16. or I believe you can do you gpa times the amount of credits you have for the program. you also get points on where you scored for the teas on each subject. proficient is 5, Advanced is 10 and the highest one is 15.

Why didn't Yu apply for the spring?
I work full time during the day and can only take evening classes. The spring admissions cycle does not allow for evenings.
Do you know cut offs for TEAS points? Like what scores would get me proficient vs. advanced?
They won't take anything lower than a 58.7
I think proficient is 58.7-79 advanced is 80-90. I believe it's like that. I went through it at nursing session and I saw it in an old forum for the fall 2017 semester. I'd have to double check. When you get your score it tells you what level you are overall

Would you say the information session is worth it? I can't find my original score email but I had the numbers copy and pasted from when I was on the Suffolk CC forum!
I would say it is. The director of the program runs in and he goes over everything and any questions you have he'll answer. Some it can get repetitive. It usually runs abt an hr. I'm surprised you were able to apply for the fall though. They don't take applications till the march before. Good luck!!
The nursing dept takes them in March. I applied directly through NCC's website!
Ohh gotcha. Well if you get a chance check out the info session. They have the dates posted on the website
