I have one test and one practical left before the end of the semester in A&P I.

I'm sooooo tired of studying and reaching burn out. All I have is special senses and endocrine for the test. The practical however covers 6 labs.

Anyone else having trouble getting motivated/ burnt out.

Any suggestions on how to make myself get some energy and kick it in this final week?

hah, if you're tired from a and p, just wait for real nursing school.. haha.... we have study group planned for like.... 20 hours or so, just for two finals....to study,just think of the end game... is it to be an RN? out of school? what? a fun trip?

get a goal and keep goin....

I'm starting to get burned out after 6 semesters of GenEd (part-time). I studied my butt off during ANP 101 & 102 (about 6 hrs study time daily) , but I've cut back a bit for ANP 201. I've tried to take this semester easy since I start the actual nursing program next semester and there won't be any time to take it easy then!

Hang in there... Be sure to take it easy over Winter Break (which means no mini-mester classes!) Seriously, I should have taken that advice back in 2004. I ended up getting so burnt out from taking A&P I and Micro at the same time, that I totally switched my major to economics...

Boy do I regret that now! After attending a semester of law school, I've decided I want to be a nurse again. I wasted 3 years!

Just don't overload yourself, or you'll end up like I did....in debt up to my eyeballs from switching majors....I thought I could do it... I was a robot! But sometimes you just can't handle being stressed 100% of the time... I don't think it's good for our mental health.

I was just wondering about taking A&P I and Micro at the same time. Both classes are two evenings a week, so I would therefore have class M-Th nights. I work full time also. Do you think this is doable? Or am I setting myself up for failure?

hi kitty,

when i took both a&p i and micro and the two other classes (a psych and sociology course), i was not working at all. as i’ve described before, it was very challenging and both professors recommended in the beginning of their classes *not to take both at once.* i had no social life--- no boyfriend and i put my friends on hold.

i ended up with a 4.0 that semester in all classes, but it drained me out so much that i ended up changing my major.

do you have any other prerequisites available to you so that you could switch out one of the courses for another? perhaps just take a&p and then maybe a psychology course---or the other way around?

next spring i’m taking a&p ii and an intermediate spanish course. it will be difficult, but i think if i set my mind to it, i can do it. it also helps to have renewed motivation/mental energy. i’ll also be working full-time, and this time around i have a very serious boyfriend.

OMG, I could have written your post. My next/last test is this Saturday and I barely touched the book. I am not burned out, just under a lot of stress at home and I just cannot concentrate. My last practical is on 12/8. I know I will not get an A...but will get a good B. Also, my algebra final is on the 10th.

Do you attend El Centro College, because I'm doing the same thing. Trying to get ready for this lab practical, and trying to prepare myself for Exam #5 (special senses & endocrine system), plus get ready for this final!! Its ridiculous actually. I don't think I should have this many tests in two weeks. But make sure you get some major rest and eat well. Stay focused and don't give up, we are almost there!!!;)

Yes, I'm taking Dr. Kirk's class. He's an awesome professor, but it's just a lot of material. Plus work is picking up this week. UGH!

I'm taking Micro at the same time as Advanced Human Physiology. It's no picnic and a lot of my classmates took Micro with ANP 1 or 2 because it was easier. For me though, I knew I had to have an A in ANP 1 & 2 (requirement for NS) but I only needed a C in ANP 201 (the Adv Phys). I'm working a lot harder on Micro than ANP 201.

OMG I feel your pain. I am so sick of studying I could scream. My house is a mess, the laundry is starting to look like a small mountain, and I am running on about 5 hrs of sleep a night. I'm taking A&P 1, I just keep telling myself its almost over I have 4 classes left and my final. I feel like I have been on over drive since September. I'm not sure what its going to feel like when I don't need to study. I can hardly wait!!! But then Jan 14th its right back to the books for microbiology. Hang in there its all worth it in the end.

anatomy, physiology, microbiology and other prerequisites = hard work or

opportunity?

nursing school = hard work or opportunity?

nclex-rn = hard work or opportunity?

first job searching = hard work or opportunity?

surviving first job = hard work or opportunity?

thriving in your nursing career = hard work or opportunity?

advancing nursing degree = hard work or opportunity?

etc.

the point is that no matter where you are in your nursing career life hard work

will always be there. hard work is the opportunity to meet your goals.
