Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi y'all! Anybody taking A&P 1 this coming spring semester? I'm trying to get as many pre-req's out of the way as possible and could use a study buddy or 2! Thanks! :)

Hey Ladies!

I'm so glad to see more people joining us on here. Although I have some sad news..ugh!! I have been keeping track of the classes offered through the cc where i'm taking classes and the A&P 1 are all filled. waaaahhh!!!!!

After seeing this, I just wanted to hide under a rock and cry. blah! But I told myself....don't give up, keep looking!! So I looked at a couple of the other CC's in the area and there is a class being offered in March'08 for A&P 1 at RSCC. I know that it's going to be an online class but I need to keep up with everything in order to be able to apply.

I hope you all won't mind me checking in from time to time and continue posting on here even though I will be 2 months behind.

rn2b25,

my summer classes should be approx. 8 weeks. sometimes they offer classes that are double the time that only last 4 weeks but that's a whole lot of learning in a very short amount of time:uhoh3:. i don't have to take a&p as prereqs for 2 of the schools i'm applying to either, but they said it looks better on your application to have as many nursing prereqs as possible completed. hey, whatever can give us a competitive edge, right?

allieinaz,

i'm so sorry you didn't get into the class! keep trying! does your school do a drop/add week? if so a lot of times people get intimidated by the material at the last minute and drop the class leaving an open spot. even if you have to wait til march to take the class keep checking in on this thread, maybe it'll be easier to get through the class with a head start. good luck! :D

Just wanted to say good luck to you! I am taking Anatomy right now, and yes it is hard, but if you have the mindset of being willing and ready to study hard, you'll do fine. Our class started with 80 and is down to 50, the professor said that they have a 50% drop rate by November. The people who aren't passing are the ones who don't take it seriously - everyone I know who is *really* trying has at least a high C. I have a high A, and several others in the class have A's as well. So it can be done, but really be prepared to work.

RN2B25, yes I'll be taking A&P I in the spring.

Wow, I could see why you would be nervous! 70 out of 500! Wow!

Sunsetlover...I know...Most programs that I looked into required that I take A&P I also, before applying. Not this program. I'm very nervous about it though because last year there were 500 applicants and only 70 got accepted. This year they plan on accepting 110. I'm just praying :) So you'll be taking A&P I in the spring?

Ok, just registered for A&P1 for spring and now I have to fight the urge to change my mind for the next 3 months until classes start...:uhoh3::uhoh3::uhoh3:

You'll be ok! :)Don't change your mind now, I did once and I wish I hadn't!

I'm in! I just registered today for Spring 08. I'm nervous! I'll be taking A&P 1, along with Nutrition, Medical Terminology, CPR and a CNA course in order to start my LPN program in May.

That's 14 hours and I graduated college 20 years ago! I have one course now, Human Growth and Development. I was worried about that as well, but everything points to my getting an A. So that gave me confidence to tackle much more next semester.

Good luck to everyone!:balloons:

Hi :) I also plan on taking A&P 1 this coming spring and am excited yet nervous at the same time. I really need to do well in this class and I hope I can get some help from this site. I look forward to getting to know all of you all better and hopefully together, we can all be successful in this course. :)

Pretty far from Mesa but I think PVCC still has openings. My neighbor drives to Mesa everyday this semester for A&P 1. We live off of Cactus and 40 st. Last I checked they still had plenty of seats. I am not sure if registration is open to public yet. I registered Halloween.

Hi, hopefully I'll get in AP1 in spring! We don't register till the 26th and I know all the determined students will register in the first few minutes that we can!

I'm also taking Microbiology, Human Development, Spanish 2, and two PE courses... I can't wait! =)

Thank you Kev for the reply. I looked at MCC's class schedule online and it still says filled, so does CGCC. Grr......

Then on top of everything else, I was just told that I have to take either Bio 156 or Bio 181 first before going to Bio 201 because all the biology classes I took way back when are too old to accept. Hmmmm...

Registration for CGCC is tomorrow (open registration), so I will be there first thing in the morning! I'm going to take an 8 week course online with RSCC for Bio 156 (since this is going to be a refresher course for me) then try to crash the Bio 201 when the semester starts. If I don't get in, i'll still be registered, hopefully, for Chem 130 and a math.

What's killing me is that most of my classes from NAU were too old to accept...they wanted 5 years or earlier. Is anyone else having this problem????

My english, psy, humanities, and math transferred.....but the science i have to start over???

My math that transferred was college algebra but I received a C. I wanted to retake the math class and hope that they will accept that math i will take this coming up semester instead of the C....

we shall see!!

Yeah you may have to take bio 156 or see if they have a placement test. Science changes, so they want you "up to date". Who is they that you want to accept your math? If it is the CC they should take it as is, without retaking it.
