does a school with no wait list exist in AZ?
You should check into GCU. Some of your information is incorrect. Make an appt and go talk to someone there.

Future Nurse Seeking Expert College Advice
You might want to check with an advisor at GCU as well. If your gpa is high, they offer a scholarship which makes them much more affordable then asu atm. Another thing to think about is asu's tuition is prolly going up up up soon. I was in the same position and after seeing my asu adviser a few weeks ago I crossed them off the list.

Hmmm. Changes for transfer to ASU
Tried looking for a thread on this, but am a bit weary from the kiddos and studying. Looking at ASU's website today and they are saying applicants need to have taken 11 of 17 crit prereqs from them to transfer in. Elsewhere it says that prereqs at asu now weigh heavier than prereqs at cc's. Anyone with any experience with this. Ive taken almost all my prereqs at the CC level. Do they expect me to finish at the CC and then path rn-bsn or retake those prereqs at asu?? TIA for any info!

ASU Prereqs
I am not sure on the price of the rn-bsn track. I do know that the grade issue you are talking about will not be an issue. There are far less applicants for that track than the bsn program. Make an appointment with and ASU adviser downtown and ask them.

Algebra online????
lol that's pretty funny, fortunately i am still smarter than my first grader. i have heard of this problem before though. the bottom line is this, are you taking the class online because you think it will be easier? it won't it will be more difficult. i know lots of good students who wouldn't dream of taking any math online. if you are taking the class online because of the flexibility the online format offers you, you are along the right path. the biggest thing you gain by taking a class in a classroom is you are "forced" to sit in class x days a week for x hours a class, and can use that time to learn. taking math in a classroom does not guaruntee you will learn it will from the instructor, you may still need to find a tutor etc. so for me it boils down to what the reasons are for taking the class online. i have taken many classes online and i find them more difficult to buckle down in. on top of my in class load, the online class seems to get thrown to the backburner. as a result, every class i have taken online i ususally squeek out an a, as opposed to being in class where i am close to the highest grade possible. i am not sure what grade this translates for you, but it's something else to consider. btw, i am taking stats (psy 230) online now and just finished fon 241. i am going to start precal in about a month. that is on top of in class micro, a&p i and human development. the online track works well for me because i stay home and care for my three children. it offers me the flexibility i need to be able to load up on credit hours. (22 fall '07) (22 spring '08) i do not recommend anyone loading up on credits like i do, but i know my limits and i like to live right at the edge of them good luck with whatever route you decide to take, keep up with the work, and practice, practice, practice!

MCCCD RN Program Waiting List
Last I heard the waitlist was 3 to 4 semesters depending on your preferences. The changing of the prereqs really just bumps people up by a semester, so you're still behind everyone else you were behind last semester. If the changing of the prereqs bumps the wait to another semester it washes because you can apply a semester earlier, then that semester is eaten up by coreqs you need anyway, micro, a&pII etc. So if you were willing to wait a semester ago, this does not really effect you.

Algebra online????
Math is about practice. You struggle to learn the concepts and then practice practice practice. I took MAT 122 online and it was a piece of cake. I am a HS dropout who has not had any algebra in over 15 years. You need to set aside time to do many problems. You need to be disciplined and do it every night. It is no biggie, you can do it if you want to.

Maricopa County Coreq's
Some schools have said to registering students many of the science classes need to have been taken within the last 5 years. You can take a test to bypass that problem though. Kev

Summer Classes
Just ASU. I will probably be done before I even get accepted to MCCC. Although I am in the midst of rethinking everything right now and may change majors :) I will probably decide next week. I am applying for spring '09 start for ASU. To date, with the exception of psy101 (which I took 10 years ago) i have a critical path GPA of 4.0, so as long as I take PGS 350 (And get an A) that should hold. Then do well on the NET and I'm in......But like I said, I may change directions. We'll see :) Kev in Phx
