In L&D the largest baby I witnessed being born was 10 pounds.

The story doesn't mention if mom had GD...

OMG!! Pain, suffering!

My bro was 10lb 10 oz, and he was huge. They didn't have any pampers to fit him in the NB nsy, we had to go to peds to get them. Was a vag del, had bad shoulder dystocia.

My son weighed 11 pounds 1 ounce and both of our sugars were fine! I pushed for 4 hours and finally had to have a c-section. I can't imagine how uncomfortable that mama was...my doc said I deserved a superwoman award because my son's head was so far up under my ribcage...talk about heartburn! And his tushie was smashing my bladder! At 9 months, they thought perhaps he was twins!! A 13 pounder is unbelievable!!!

My nephew was 11 lb 2 oz and his mom did fine. She says it was an easy labor (3rd baby). No shoulder dystocia and their blood sugars were fine. He was so cute--looked like the gerber baby from the beginning!

My daughter was 9lbs. even. I thought that was big. But 13!!! I would've probably pasted out.

WOW! My daughter is 10 lbs and she's nearly 2 months old.. I couln't even imagine pushin a 10 pounder out!

I am 14 wks, and after reading this and looking at the picture, I vow to never eat another candy bar for the next 6 months at least!

These Mothers Need To Be Aware That Large Babies Can Be Forerunners Of Diabetes Later In Life Not Just At Delivery

Holy canolee! Most women would have to have a c-sect. I wonder...did they make her labor? Was she a DM mom? I still can't believe how big that baby is.

when i had my duagther someone next door had an 11 pound baby, both of our babies had to stay in the nursery for awhile and i remember thinking the 11 pounder looked like a one month old baby not a brand new baby! and yep i heard all the screams assoiciated with the delivery while i was waiting to finish dilating. Sure made me nervous!

I would think that most women would WANT a C-Section in this case. I would anyhow.:)

2 wks ago we had a 11lb 8oz baby girl born via c-section. The top of her head was the shape of mom's pelvic outlet. She was the ugliest little thing I'd even seen in my life! She did get cuter over the next few days.

2 days ago had a 10lb 7oz baby boy born lady partslly. Mom did great, did get an epis but said it was a much easier delivery than her 8 pounder. Go figure. Gotta love epidurals for that reason!

All I have to say is OH MY GOD!!
