Posting your Exam Grades on Facebook

Does anyone find this really annoying? I'm usually private about my grades unless a good friend of mine from class asks me..... Does the whole world need to know? This is how the posts usually look. A&P 93%... just weird to me.. anyone else feel the same?

When I had Facebook, I did post my grades up once in a while, especially if it was a test that I studied really hard for. I never had a problem with anyone posting their grades up. However, I never saw anyone get too obnoxious about it either. If a person posts every single grade that they receive, then yea, that's annoying.

I think people post lots of stupid annoying things on facebook that no one cares about so no it doesn't really surprise or bother me. I don't care if people want to post, honestly sometimes if I have a big exam and do well on it I will post something because I'm excited, relieved and happy. I don't post every grade but some big ones, why not? Nursing school is tough with lot's of crappy days so why not celebrate the good ones.

Didn't matter to me. My page is private and it was only until after I was done with school did I become "friends" with the majority of my nursing school friends on facebook.

I don't post my grades on FB too often unless I'm super excited. I do tell my classmates about my grades, because I feel like we are friends & we're there to support each other :)

No i don't think it's annoying. If your proud of your grade why not tell ur friends on facebook. With all that time of studying why should one have to hold back from telling people about their awesome grades?

To be honest, I think it's an issue that has minimal to no importance....

but I have also felt annoyed when others posted test grades on facebook. Now, that's not to say that I didn't do well on the exam, I think it comes down to being sympathetic to classmates....the majority of us have facebooks and can see eachother's posts on the 'news feed' so it's not as simple to say 'don't look at their page.' The reason I get annoyed is because I have a lot of close friends who would make great nurses that have failed or have been extremely close to failing thus every exam is sigificant to them and their careers. I think it's just kinda rude to boast about your grades when you know your own nursing friends are struggling so much and can see your comments.... but, I can agree that facebook is a place where people can post whatever they want

Honestly, I don't think as nursing students you can post whatever you want on FB. We are a representation of our school and the healthcare facility. I have posted from time to time,"thank god, I rocked the PEDS test!"(never percentages.) I don't have many friends as myclassmates on FB,sometimes you need to seperate yourself from the school environment when your just a mouse click away.I also NEVER shared my grades with study mates or freinds because it creates competition and may strengthen or weaken levels of confidence. I think it's pointless to ALWAYS on FB,we have a million other things we could be doing..LOL:D

I am afraid someone is going to get killed bc they share to much info on fb, some will get killed because of their grades ( jealousy can take over the mind sometimes) . So many straight A students have been killed. This doesn't happen only in movies, it's all over the news especially where I live.

lmao.

I post... primary way of communicating and I worked for those grades. I'm proud of myself. I don't think bad of people who don't though- it's a personal choice... I choose to share, you don't. Big deal. I don't automatically assume someone is stuck up or that they are doing poorly if they don't post...

It's simple to not see what people are posting, you don't have them on your friends list. You can control a great deal of what you see on FB.

I really don't see the issue. I have no problem admitting I probably post nothing but inane stuff that doesn't matter on my FB. Some people here could probably confirm this ;)

It's my FB though and I can do that if I want. :p

Don't hate, congratulate!!!

I dont get the whole thing with people and sharing grades/not sharing grades. I want to know who is doing well to tap them as a resource on how maybe I can do better.

All the ********/cattiness that people do about others grades is what annoys me. Yes people are doing awesome and they want to share the awesomeness that they are doing. But heaven forbid they might **** off/offend/make someone cry because they didnt do well on the test. Seriously people if you cant handle facebook get off it.

I don't post every grade...because I don't want it to come off as bragging. But my friends and family do keep up with my nursing school progress on FB and they like to see how I'm doing. They send encouragement when my grade isn't the best. And when I got a 100, heck yeah I posted that!! I study my butt off and I think I deserve a little pat on the back from my friends and family.

It also encourages some of my LPN classmates that they can go back for their RN. I have a high school friend that is working on pre-reqs, she has told me that my posts are inspiring for her. I don't make them about my grade only, more about hard work and the pay off. The pay off just happens to be grades when it comes to theory.
