I have a Seiko and I love it. I've had it six years. It was a gift from my spouse when we were dating and it means a lot to me.
Last night a patient in DT's ripped it right off of my arm and broke it.
When I left he was in leather restraints. Don't mess with me.
I'll get the watch fixed. But Seiko is a good brand, been around a billion years, looks good and but doesn't have many bells and whistles. I just need to know the time, date and have a second hand.
I had a Swiss Army - nice big face, both 12 hr and 24 hr markers, sweep second hand. Left it at the health club 2 wks ago and it's gone. But I anticipate buying another. I think it was about $200 about 5 years ago. It was a fantastic watch. When I bought it, the saleswoman told me that lots of nurses buy this brand because it's easy to read and has the nice second hand. Sold me.
I have a really nice Seiko, but I actually prefer the large dial Timex I bought at Walmart for 11.98. It had an expansion band, was waterproof, sweep second hand, huge face with actual numbers and military time in smaller numbers just behind. It also had indiglo. I think it was called the Easy Reader.
I like my watch, it is a man's model Fossil, silver with a light blue face with glow in the dark numbers and sweeping second hand. I used to wear watches with leather bands but with constantly washing hands, the leather was always wet which was irritating. Besides, after a while the leather started to stink from always being damp. A big bonus is that my watch is water resistant which obviously is great for handwashing:)
I have to second both NAVYNURSE29 and SUZY253 on their watch choices
I love Fossil - they have some really nice looking men's watches (and women's) just bought one for hubby for christmas since his old one (not fossil) crapped out
And I have owned several Swatch and they do just seem to keep going and going....

Mine got stolen a few months ago, (along with all my jewelry), and since then I've been making 'do' with my digital Ironman. I'm looking for a better watch with a sweeping second hand, and luminous markers, but of course I want the best value for the money. If you love your watch I'd like to know the details. Thank you!
