Pearson Vue Trick

Published

I took my nclex yesterday and computer shot me down at 80 questions. I cam bck home and i tried the pearson vue with a credit that that is overdrawn. I got that bad pop up that my credit card was declined! Is it blc it was overdrawn or is blc i failed? Im freaking out..does any one know if the crdit card matters?

It means your card was declined. That is it.

I hope you get good news soon!

Especially if you try right away there is no way to tell. You are only going to succeed in making your self crazy. Either wait for quick results or your BoN for an accurate result

That was dumb.

Now you're even more freaked out.

I wish the myth of the PVT would die. It doesn't even work reliably anymore.

Relax, try to get some sleep, and wait the 48 hours. It's just a test. You can take it again if you didn't pass.

I just checked MBON my name pops up but license say pending. Entry date 9/30/2015 completion date blank. Is there any hope or i failed? Before today my name wasnt appearing on their website

All it means is your license application was processed and entered into the database.

Did you pass? I took mine on Monday. Computer shut off at question 160 something. I felt sick and had a feeling I failed. I refused to try the PVT at first cause of all the stories I heard. I am in Ohio and we do have the quick results and I waited for those, but kept checking the BON just to see if my name popped up. Usually if you pass, they will post it by the next day. So I wound up failing, but I know I will pass next time. I hope you get the results you are looking for.

I didnt Pass. Any advice..i will just go ahead and start studying like i never took it

I am so sorry to see this update. I used Hurst, which I found to be minimally helpful, but as "minimal" as the help was, it was still help. I liked that it gave a bit of a blueprint to think through patho.

When answering questions, I was sure to only second guess myself if a question repeated. It wouldn't be asked in the exact same words, but I had a hunch that when I did see something twice, I may have answered incorrectly the first time around.

Do you feel like it was the content, or the question styles that you struggled with?

Happymode, I am truly sorry to hear because I only had the feeling and was already devastated but you have the right attitude to just pick up and start again. I used Uworld and Hurst ans was impressed with the uworld rationales. I learned a lot and can say if I did not use them I don't think I would have passed. There was a drug questions that I was not familiar with but looking at the answer choices I was able to deduce from that the best answer for the question. I went over Hurst on how to answer questions, what to look for, and make sure to focus on the stem regardless of how many fillers the questions had and that seemed to have helped. Try uworld is the best advice I can give to anyone in the valley of decision as to what to study. It shall and can be done.

Sorry to hear that. I was routing for you. I passed in 76 question first go round. I used Kaplan for learning how to answer the questions. I used Sauders for Content. My school also enrolled us with ATI and evolve/elsevier. I think the key is to answer a ton of question. All in all, I think Kaplan helped me the most. At first, I was memorizing content and that is below passing level learning. NCLEX is trying to see if you can critically think your way through a question even if you don't know the content which is very similar to what would happen in clinical practice. Kaplan teaches you to think like NCLEX wants you to. Anyway, good luck. Just keep praying and studying and don't give up.

I am truly sorry to hear that you didn't pass. I failed the Nclex 2 times!!! So believe me when I say that I can relate to how you must have felt when you received the bad news. However, I would absolutely encourage you to keep studying and preparing for the Nclex. This past Saturday I sat for the exam for the third and final time and passed with 75 questions. Resources that I used to prepare for the Nclex this time around were:

La Charity Prioritization, Delegation and Assignment book

Ncsbn Nclex prep course (8 weeks)

Kaplan Qbank (1month)

Kaplan Nclex Rn Premier Strategies book

Kaplan was a very useful resource their questions were very similar to the questions that I saw on the Nclex. I also did a lot of practice questions this time I don't know how many for sure but it was over 3,000.

Please don't give up. If I can do it, I know that you can do it too!

P.S. the pearson vue trick does work. I did it all three times! Previously when I failed, it would try to charge my card and decline it.This time I got the "good pop up" and I only had $2.69 on the debit card lol.
