Getting much sleep? Make sure you do. You don't want to oversleep on your 1st day of clinicals. Has this happen to you? Did you go in late? If yes, how did you feel?
What did you do so that it doesn't happen again?

Every few nights I dream I sleep through my alarm and wake up when I should already be at clinical. I try to hurry but I can only move in slow motion, traffic is terrible, and my clinical instructor kicks me out of nursing school. Thankfully this hasn't happened to me in real life! Dreams can be strange.

I overslept last spring during daylight savings. Luckily I carpool and the person I was meeting called me with enough time that I was only 15 mins late... boy that day went badly

I was always so worried that I would oversleep I found myself waking up all night long before a clinical. I loved the quarter we had an afternoon/evening time slot.

Last semester when i started a new clinical site I overslept on my first day. The worst feeling. I thought i had to be there at 8am and i walked in at 820 panicking and probably looking crazy. When i met my preceptor i apologized for being late etc. She told me, "oh your not late we don't stat until 830, i just here got here myself." So embarrassing :/

I got lost on my first day of clinical. I had practiced driving back and forth to the facility, but I've never been to a hospital in my life except when I was born. So when I got to the facility, I was in the wrong building and didn't realize it, and spent a long time running around trying to find the unit. I think I was about an hour or so late. I was tearful and my clinical instructor was very kind to me.

I was so paranoid about oversleeping for clinicals in school! I would check that I set my alarm clock properly about a zillion times before going to bed, and then through the night as well. The school really put the fear of God into us. LOL

I always had to set at least 9 alarms or I couldn't sleep for fear of not getting up on time

I had an instructor who overslept on the 2nd day of clinicals. We had to call her at home. She was still in bed when we called. She said she forgot she had clinicals that day.

I know of someone who overslept for clinical and received a clinical warning on the first day. Then they had to make it up another day. Some instructors do not tolerate lateness.

Not in clinicals yet, but I did oversleep on my second day of Fundamentals, I apologized so much! I had to make it up

I never overslept for any clinical day or class.
What I did--and still do--was set multiple alarms on my phone, each 10-15 minutes apart. That way if I shut the first one off (accidentally or not) and ended up dozing off, there was another alarm on its way.
