I hate our uniforms. It's not the colors, black pants and white shirt, but it's the fact that the white top is not a traditional scrub top. That doesn't really bother me but I think the shirt is intended to be for some sort of other uniform than healthcare I swear. It zips in the front with color on the sleeves. The older uniforms are so much better. It is white button down shirt that is slightly silky with color on the sleeves.
I think the button down shirts look more professional.
Remember, it is potentially identifying if you describe the uniform.
My regular clinical uniform is all white. Landau pants that are drawstring in the front and elastic in the back. I hate elastic pants because with all the junk you need to carry, they fall down. The tops are ok. They are a button front, collared smock. They have giant pockets so I can keep all of my paperwork on me without a clipboard. The top is also pretty long so should the pants begin to head south, you're covered up. We have a blue school patch sewn on the sleeve and a name tag. The prices weren't so bad...about $50/set and the patch was already on. I splurged on Dansko Professional shoes and I love them.
For lab, we can wear any scrubs we want, any closed toe shoes and our name tag.
For mental health clinical, we wear navy blue Dickies work pants, a gold polo shirt (our school colors) that has our school logo embroidered on and of course the name tag.
Other than the fear of white pants and the elastic part, it's not so bad for me.
Hated my LPN scrubs..ceil blue top and bottom. The bottoms ran very very large and were draw string..mine were always sliding down!. The bottoms only had one small back pocket and one useless pocket on the leg that was too small and not deep enough to really put anything in it that would keep anything securely in it. The top was worse..a breast pocket (small) and nothing else. Had no where to put anything.
My RN program scrubs were much better, navy blue top and bottom. Bottoms had two front pockets and two back pockets and the tops had two pockets at the bottom. The guys tops only had top breast pockets.
I think our uniforms are okay... for tall people that is lol. It's a royal blue zip top from Dove Apparel, and white pants from anywhere. The top is so uncomfortable, very itchy and heavy, I was sweating within five minutes. I like how it fits me though, it's just really long for me; I'm very petitie( 4'10), so the top looks like a loose mini dress on me.. Haha! I would love to get it cut, but the pockets are at the bottom of my top, so there's no way around that:( oh well only two years of this.
Our program had us wear regular scrubs, in navy blue. I liked them. These zipper tops sound really strange, and I never understood why some programs choose white. It's the one color you're more likely able to see through, and it shows everything you've ever come into contact with. Not a good color choice for nurses.

My uniform is white. All white. Regular scrubs any brand but the big thing is the smock :/ I don't like it for the very reason I cannot find them anywhere. Landau doesn't make the one I need anymore. I need white (of course) with navy blue trim. I ordered some from eBay the were perfect except the trim is royal blue and would you believe..the coordinator said no go! Glad I'm not the only one having uniform woes.
